“Very convenient location, perfect for its money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

The hotel is very close to one of the main streets of Berlin - Ku'damm (the Kurfürstendamm). Also it takes just a few minutes to get to bus stops and the place is just a couple of bus stops away from the Zoo central station. There are a lot of cafe's and restaurants nearby.
While the hotel has the excellent location, its rooms are not so perfect. Furniture is rather old, standard rooms are small and oppressive. There was no Wi-Fi internet in rooms, so we had to use ancient PCs at the reception in order to check transport schedule.
But still this hotel is the best choice for tourists who prefer to explore the city attractions and not the hotel.
I would choose this hotel for my next stay in Berlin.

“The best value for this price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

This hotel cannot provide you with a luxury staff, but it is not a shortcoming. Olivaer Apart Hotel is great choice in Berlin due to its location (near Ku’damm) and small price (we paid about 45$ per night). But low price does not mean pinch pennies, at least breakfast is good and reception is available at any time. So, I would strongly recommend this hotel if you want good quality and location for small price.

“Brilliant location, very friendly and a real bargain.”

I have now visited this hotel twice - once three years ago, and last week, and on both occassions I was not disappointed.

It's clean, the staff are friendly and I think you'll find that the hotel in general is incredibly good value for money. On top of that is the fantastic location, not only for getting around once you're there, but also because of it's proximity to Charlottenburg railways station, and the Airport Express from Shoenenfeld Airport.

Just to pick up on a points made in the other posts. Well a group of kids stayed there the last night we were there, and, unlike, the other reviewer, we didn't hear a peep out of them. Perhaps they were well behaved, or perhaps the person who wrote their review was being a tad petty.

I paid next to nothing to stay three nights - it's a good, basic hotel, providing you with a base to explore a wonderful city. If you want to stay in the lap of luxury, I suggest you stump up the extra 200 quid a night.

“Hotel does not belong to Agon Group any more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2010

The hotel entrance, reception and lifts are very shabby and quite dirty. The room I had was lovely. It was very clean and bright. I was also lucky enough to have a room with a balcony. It's in a good location. The bus from the airport stops about five minutes away.

My arrival coincided with the first day of the new owners so the staff didn't quite know if they were coming or going. They did their utmost to be polite and friendly.

For meals and beer I can recommend the Xantener Eck Restaurant on Xantener Street which is about a five minute walk.

“Never go here if there are school parties staying at the same time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2010

I have stayed at this hotel four times in the last three years and although basic it always provided a good breakfast and the rooms are clean. You get what you pay for as usual, the location is good for buses and U-Bahn with plenty of varied places nearby to eat.
However when I stayed at this hotel last week we were on the top floor with four school parties of Italian students, girls on the fifth floor and boys on the fourth with their teachers.
We only managed one good nights sleep and that was the day before we left as by then the students had gone. The worst night was the one beforethey all left, no sleep until 4.30 am. This was despite getting the night staff to ask the students to be quiet and me shouting at them, they would be quiet for a while then be out again in the corridoors chastting away as if it was mid day.Despite complaining every morning the hotel seemed unable to get a grip with the problem, I was not the only one complaining and usually takes a lot to make me do so. It spoiled our stay there and as if the noise wasn't bad enough the breakfast had been changed to a poorer standard with not too much variety but because of the large amount of students there if you didn't get down early there was hardly anything left. Will definitely not be staying there again. The hotel is under new management and they need to control their hotel more robustly.
