We stayed here for two weeks, conducting several business conferences during this time. The location is great for meetings up to 250 people. The setting is ideal if you want to get away, or have meetings without distractions. The restaurant and meeting room staffs are very friendly and helpful, the sleeping rooms are clean and most rooms have a balcony. It was easy to stay here for several weeks because there are plenty of hiking trails and you can rent bicycles and Segways at the front desk.
On the negative side, the front desk staff is needs a LOT of training in customer service. They are generally unhelpful and rude. They love saying, "That is not possible" any time we needed something. The spa is nice but the exercise facilities are a joke. The restaurant food was OK but rather bland and starchy.
We will definitely go back to this hotel for business meetings but I hope they train the front desk staff to smile and say "Yes," and invest a few euros into some new equipment for the fitness center.

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Muggelsee last weekend and we had a fantastic time. The staff, in particular Anja on reception were wonderful and always going out of their way to help us with directions, taxis etc. Our language barrier was no problem and the hotel itself was beautiful.
One warning I will give you - The spa is naked only.... something that certainly shocked us after a cold snowy day in Berlin and you are looking forward to a spa and sauna....
The hotel is a little out of the way.... but it was worth it for us as we had such a great time and thought it was great value.

We stayed for the Easter weekend in April 2009. We hired a car from Tegel airport and the journey to the hotel was easy and very pleasant. The location is really beautiful and great for escaping from city life. Commuting in and out of Berlin by car was a breeze too, which was really unexpected.

I like a little of the old GDR experience and this hotel did hark back to the communist days in outer design, but inside it's pretty modern.

Checking-in was quick and efficient. The staff speak good English and are helpful.

The room was a little disappointing. Although clean and fairly modern, it didn't feel anything like 4-star accommodation. The beds and bedding were a little poor in quality.

Food was excellent but expensive. One night they tried to charge 50 Euros per person for a buffet, so we chose from the menu - much cheaper! The following night, the buffet was 18 Euros per person....Breakfast was a steep 16 Euros per person although quality and choice were great.

One thing that REALLY annoyed us was the intended charging on 8 Euros per day just to park the car at the hotel. This was despite very few other cars being there. We told the staff that this was unacceptable and they didn't challenge us!

We tried the spa and bowling alley which were adjacent to the hotel - good fun but given that there really is nothing else to do there, this was a bonus!

All in all, I'd recommend this place but with the caveat that it's not great value for money at all.

Stayed at the Mueggelsee hotel for a conference.

Firstly - know that this hotel is in East Berlin as was - and it is an hour's schlep in a taxi from the airport to get here. It is no mean feat to go to the town centre to dine, for example, so you are pretty much stranded here.

Hotel is set in lush forest at the edge of Lake Mueggel. Almost all rooms seemed to have great views.

Check in and pubic areas all very impressive in this hotel - spacious, interesting and well kept. Bar quite intimate a fun, although the service from very young and indolent waitresses bordered on unacceptable.

My room was very spacious and comfortable with a patio area overlooking the forest. Very nice indeed.

Bed a bit soft and pillows VERY soft, but perhaps that is the personal preference of other folks.

The conference food was quite decent.

Best of all was the bowling alley in the basement ! Much fun was had here during the conference evenings ! I did not try the swimming pool or gym.

It was a fine conference hotel, and I can imagine it is a peaceful retreat for folks wanting a quit civilised break by the lake too.

Just don't expect to be close enough to Berlin to spend much time there from thid hotel.
