Great location within walking distance from downtown and the train station. Pros: friendly staff, WiFi worked well, good breakfast selection for the price. Cons: the whole building needs an urgent renovation, the room was small and lacking of light, carpet was old and worn out. I felt excessive usage of anti-odor spray after room service, which I personally did not like the smell. The headboard of my bed was falling apart. I've notified the service desk, they checked right away but decided to fix it after I check out. They did offer me another room but I didn't think was necessary. I haven't had any food at the restaurant so I can't speak for that. If I had to choose again I'd not stay there again, main because of the overall condition of the building.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was adequate. On the first morning we paid for breakfast, which had a good selection. With an hour and a half to go till the finish time they had run out of bacon and when asked if there was anymore we were told no. Not good when it is advertised until 12 midday. Our room was very dark particularly the bathroom not good enough to put make up on and other guests said the same. It was in a very good position and ideal for shopping etc. Except for the lady in the breakfast room staff were very polite.For the money the paid quite good value if u can ignore the dark bathroom.

This hotel is a beautiful old building located in the heart of Charlottenburg. Just off Kurfürstendamm ("K-Damm"), which runs through the centre of Berlin, this hotel is in a prime position and within walking distance of Tier Garten, Berlin Zoo and Kaiser Wilhem Church. The hotel itself is very peaceful as it is down a side street off of Ku-Damm. It is very close to the U-Bahn to get access to the outer areas of Berlin. The room we stayed in was clean and cosy, with a lovely large warm clean bathroom. We bought breakfast in the hotel on the first day, which was a substantial buffet but at 12 euros each. We did find that Berlin has numerous cafes, bakers, supermarkets and of course bratwurst stalls which offer a much better value meal. The staff were very polite and efficient.

Superb location, just off the Ku'damm and an easy walk from Zoologisher Garten station even with a (wheeled !) suitcase. Make sure you walk right to the bottom of Meinekestrasse, the hotel sign is discreet and not visible from 100 yards like larger hotels. Meinekestrasse is full of restaurants so plenty of places to get fed at night - recommend Gasthaus Krombach if you can actually get a table !

Also a Lidl and a newagent/tobacconist in the same road for more basic requirements.

Room was basic but clean and comfortable enough. As others have said there's no air-conditioning so I wouldn't recommend it during a spell of hot weather, but fine for nine months of the year. Checking out at 0630 ( 0925 flight from Schoenefeld) was no problem at all, Reception never sleeps !

My only slight quibble would be that people can enter from the street and go straight up to the bedrooms without passing or being observed by Reception - however the bedroom door had a mortice lock so we still felt secure at nights. Oh, and they don't have a safe for you to leave spare cash/passports in, although you can apparently use the Mark Hotel on the opposite side of the road if you need to do this.
