Stayed at the Tiergarten hotel for 15 days - the rooms were very clean - the staff spruced up the place great everyday

The best bit was the friendly and helpful advice from Benjamin and the staff on the best places to visit and shop in Berlin

Good location. Family owned with owner on hand made sure guests were well looked after. Good breakfast with plenty of fruit.

Okay, okay, location's all right, good breakfast, I know, but WHAT IS THE POINT IF YOU CANT SLEEP?! We stayed here for a few days and could not figure out why this hotel was given a high rating. It was so intensely hot in all the rooms--the only relief was by opening the windows, and that too it was only a few degrees cooler! We were sweating like crazy the entire day! The guest needs to be provided with some measure of comfort in order to do the sightseeing and activities they want to do, but here apparently comfort equals one lousy , tiny little fan that creates a breeze for about, oh, I don't know, a freaking FOOT!!!! And we had to push and fight to get that one useless fan! It's ridiculous! And later, after arguing with the rude and unhelpful owner, we managed to get a second fan, but that was our last night! He claimed he didn't care about "superficial" ratings and reviews. I mean, we couldn't sleep at night! Is this owner so stubborn he won't go out to buy a few decent fans for all his rooms? Do not stay here unless you hope to break the world record for most sleepless nights in a row!

No AC in this hotel! The room felt like an oven! When asked for a fan we got a 6 inch fan!! The temperature inside the room is much more than outside due to the type of the building. Although the staff was nice, the owner of the hotel was very rude! Everybody in the hotel had the same thing to say - did not know it would be this bad!! A Canadian group came and they wanted to leave, but the owner wouldn't give any money back to them. The breakfast was good; location is not bad. But, if you cannot sleep at night what good is it?!!
