It says a lot that the hotel invited us to comment on our stay via Trip advisor. Rather than answer a few pre-prepared questions sealed in an envelope, I feel it is a testament to both the confidence and commitment of the Hotel to meet their guest's expectations.
The location is somewhat out of the way but this is a small inconvenience in return for the style of the property. The public rooms are evocative of their original epoch and feel welcoming and sumptuous. Our Grand Deluxe room was a little plain in comparison but it was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom generous in size. There is a great indoor pool with sauna, steam room etc. The cigar bar was a wonderful time warp of wood and cigar smoke mingling together. Few places now offer the chance to smoke a cigar inside, by contrast the non smoking room was devoid of life during our whole stay!
What makes this hotel however are the staff who appear both genuine in their desire to serve and professional in the way they go about their tasks. In short, a lovely hotel.

Before we went I was told "You wont want to leave the hotel if you're staying there". It's absolutely true. The Schlosshotel Im Grunewald is my absolute favourite hotel. Utterly decadent and beautiful it is a perfect place to stay if you want some relaxation time away from the hustle and bustle of Berlin.

The staff are exceptionally helpful and very hard working. They will go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. The staff are very knowledgeable about all the main tourist attractions but can also recommend some lesser know things to see/do.

The hotel and rooms are all beautifully decorated and are very warm and cosy. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic. It's very easy to lose all track of time while drinking mulled wine on the cosy sofa in front of the open fire.

The spa is lovely and is very clean. The treatments are brilliant and although costly are definitely worth treating yourself to.

I will definitely be visiting this hotel again. I didn't want to leave.

The Schlosshotel is a legend. The rooms are gorgeous, some with libraries and terraces. I have stayed here twice and have loved every stay. Each room is distinctly decorated by various artists. The atmosphere is very charming. The stuff is really very kind and always ready to help. The Schlosshotel is just my favorite hotel. It's very grown up, almost like another world and time, you feel yourself like you are in the castle( obviously it is) and it's so romantic...

I had not been to the Schlosshotel for a couple of years and was so delighted to come back. This is the only hotel in Berlin with true grandezza, elegance and authentic style. It is my absolute Nr. 1, by far, in front of The Regent, The Adlon and maybe The Concorde and way in front of the faux-Dubaian-style Ritz-Carlton. The interior design is worthy of a Palais, but not too heavy, with some modern touches. Food is excellent. The bar is one of the best in the world and it still provides a possibility to smoke cigars. Wonderful! The inside swimming pool is also a nice asset, just as the al fresco terrace and the romantic garden.
