We stayed here for two nights and were very pleased with the service. A spacious, clean room, with free wifi, minibar, large TV and bath/shower. I picked Gruner Baum because of it's location, and it did not disappoint. A five minute walk across the bridge to the old town, or the same in the other direction to get to Fortress Marienburg. A great base for our stay in Wurzburg. I wouldn't bother paying for the indoor garage though; it was one of those two-tier hydraulic lift things and was a nightmare to park in (maybe okay if you have a small car).

I stayed at the Grüner Baum for three nights last June during a bike tour of the Romantic Road. I got a twin bed room for E95 (a double costed E110). the room was rather small but had all the amenities like a flat screen TV ,a smal fridge and a very god shower.
But the the points that made the difference were the care the front desk people showed to us and the breakfast buffet. All plates very very carefully decorated. It was like a buffet in a dinner party. One morning a relative of my wife arrived and had breakfast with us. Well the management didn`t charge the extra breakfast saying that the lady "was a guest"!.
I,m looking forward go going to this hotel im my next visit to Würzburg.

Friendly, helpful staff, great location near Alte Main Brücke bridge and a five-minute walk into town, but parking can be a problem if you don't reserve a place in their garage ahead of time. Breakfast was good.

There is no air conditioning and the room may be uncomfortable on a warm summer night.

Note: we were there on a Saturday night and you definitely will not sleep past 8:00 am on a Sunday morning as you a right across the street from a church.

Just a perfect place. You can tell the owners and / or employees do not just work there to make money.

The breakfast is a surprise, my only worry is fire safety. No smoke detectors (or they are hidden), no second way out, wouldn't know where to go in case of a fire. I do recommomend, but do something with your fire safety!

And thinking about it, another thing is the treats and mini bar. They have Mars bars etc in a basket. My partner was sure they were complemantary. It's was a good thing we didn't eat them because they weren't for free.
