My second time to stay in this hotel while attending Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine which was held at the Congress Centrum (adjacent to the hotel). No matter what the weather is, no problem! One just walk through the doors to the conference site.
Arrived early for check-in and was surprised that my room is ready. Unlike my previous stay, I was given a better ''lighted'' room. Breakfast buffet is really fantastic with wide selections of sausages, cheese, fruits and bread. Free use of business center but one has to book first. Check out quite early but my packed breakfast was ready and the front desk called a taxi for me.

I guess it's just the difference between the amenities in the US versus Europe...but...

Plusses: typical German efficiency, spotless rooms, proper service, and the Breakfast room is not to be believed. Personal safe in room, and once you get used to having a quilt instead of how the US makes up a bed...very nice. All of the major sights in town are within walking distance, and surrounded by your choice of restaurants...not to mention the ambiance of a small German city. In all, no major complaints.

Minusses: No in-house convenience shop, prices for the minibar are the typical 400% more than walking down the road to the convenience store at the Shell or Esso station north of the facility...and 15 Euro for 24 hrs of Internet access? What's THAT about?...I guess it's the difference in telecom tariffs or just the captive audience (I drove across the US last summer and NEVER paid for in-room network connectivity at ANY hotel). Limited TV channels, but then, again, I'll mark it up to cultural differences.

We had a comfortable stay here. There was a choice of pillow, parking for the car and breakfast was huge!! So much variety and choice and beautiful views from the breakfast room. Excellent service from reception. Would stay here again.

It aways beats me as to why hotel clerks in the hospitality business seem to thing they have a license to not be very pleasant nor helpful...and, this was the case at the Maritim Hotel in Wurzburg...plus, the air conditioner on a very warm night quit working....but, to take the cake, because we were 10 minutes in leaving the hotel garage, they actually charged us an additional $ 0.4? Hospitality? Oh well, a simple solution...not to stay there again and to tell others.
