We were very impressed with this place. For a reasonable price, we got a great large room (large not just by European standards, but Canadian too). The room was charming, a great mix of old-world elegance and modern design (bathroom). Good breakfast and decent location just outside the old city walls. I would absolutely stay here again. I've been to Europe 5 times and stayed in many hotels - this is one of my favourite!

The hotel is situated near the old city of Rothenburg; within ten minutes you'll be standing in the centre of the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful, if you encounter any problems or have any questions. The wifi-connection wasn't working in my room, and they really tried to solve this, unfortunately without any result. The wifi-connection in the lobby was excellent, so I used that. The first (single) room I stayed in, was on the ground floor, next to a door that was used at night to enter the building. That was a bit noisy. The room itself was a bit old fashioned. The next night I stayed in another room on the third floor. A light and comfortable room, much better!!!
The breakfast buffet is excellent!!! I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Arrived to find a beautiful, very old hotel. Just a few room and we stayed in the junior suite. Bed was a little hard compared to other hotels stayed in on the trip. Had great shower and bathroom in room. Free breakfast with our stay package, great breads and meats, fruit and juices. Parking was very limited. Only about 8 spots to park in front of hotel. Otherwise you can park across the street in the public lot. This hotel is about 30 yards from the old city wall. I would recommend my family and friends to stay here.

We have been using hotels.com to book most of our rooms for this trip and they have a welcomerewards program which allows you to earn up to 10 free nights per year - booking the equivalent of 100 nights. Since we are traveling for quite a while - this actually makes sense for us to do and we have earned over 3 rooms. We used our first to stay in the best room in the Villa Mittermeier. How lovely! It was equipped with a flat-screen TV, canopy bed, free mini bar, separate toilet, separate shower, and soaking tub for two. While the views were not romantice, the room truly was.

The included breakfast buffet was absolutely the best we've had in Europe so far - period. It included gourmet cheeses, sliced meat, fresh fruit, fresh juices, champagne, and a variety of granola and yogurt. I especially liked the free mimosa and two-cup carafe of fresh coffee. Yummm...

Check-out was easy and brusque if anything. Check-in was efficient and gracious - excellent staff.

The villa is located about 200 m from one of the main Rothenburg ob der Tauber towers and you could gain access to the main part of town in about ten minutes. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic, lovely evening without having to worry about parking in the old town.
