We arrived here around 6PM on a Sunday with plans to stay for one night. First of all, we had trouble finding anyone to check us in. The hotel is a bit of a maze having suffered various remodels over the years. Once we did find our way (we used a side entrance because the front was locked), we were able to check in. The hallway was decorated in a lovely pattern that reminded me of a nursing home. The room itself had been updated recently but unfortunately it was a bad move. In the words of my wife when we walked in, "This place looks like a Holiday Inn." Normally this wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but with the non-stop charm of Rothenburg you want to become immersed in it not delivered out of it with a hotel room like this.
This hotel does offer garage parking in a small space behind the place for an extra 5 Euros per night. And to the plus side of things, the staff was ultra-accomodating. We were late to rise and they called us to be sure we wanted breakfast. They offered to help us take our bags to the room which was somewhat unprecented as well.
The walled town of Rothenburg is not to be missed. It's a great little place. The location of this hotel can't be beat. Just a few blocks down from the Marketplatz and located right on the main street running through town.
