We had booked with Uhl, but they sent us here (a practice I don't like). Our room overlooked roofs and backyards in the old town. It had a balcony, but it was too cold to use it (besides, we normally don't spend much time in the room when we travel). The style was "bavarian", ie. dark wood, brownish tapestry and furniture.
We didn't try the restaurant, but it seemed to be quite popular, with many guests. The included breakfast was good, with newly baked bread and many types of spread, ham, cheese etc. but only one hot item: Boiled eggs.
What always annoys me, however, is places where you have to pay for internet. Glocke used a commercial operator who took 12 euros for a day. It's a total rip-off. Nowadays, everybody have to use internet to find out where attractions are, when they are open etc. Internet should be included in the room price, the same way that clean linen and hot water is.
So when I refrain from recommending Glocke, it is because of the internet. We should totally boicott places that don't provide free internet in all rooms!
The shower was clean and nice, but the showerhead was loose. We showered at the same time as everybody else in the morning, and it is not surprising that the pressure was a little low.
The people we met were nice enough and the whole business seemed well run and professional.
