This pretty, classic german Gasthof is located in the heart of Rothenburg. My wife and I enjoyed one of the uppermost rooms, quiet, with excellent beds and with recently gently renewed modern bathroom. Parking (free) was in the Hof backyard. Although we mostly dined out in town, the Hof offered lovely, tasty dinners as well. We loved being in the center of town, everything within walking distance. There is lots to enjoy in Rothenburg.

Awesome! We arrived at night, but it was easy to find. They had closed the kitchen, but willingly (very nicely) agreed to cook some food for a hungry family from out of town. They also had parking which was a huge plus. The room for 4 was spacious and clean. Now, the decor. It was great! It was like we were staying in a medieval hunting lodge. It really set the mood for our tour of Rothenburg (which is a must see). In short, great hosts, great food, great service, great room, great decor, and great location (center of town). And the price wasn't bad either. A+.

Traveled here with wife and five year old and we all really enjoyed it. I agree with the other positive reviews, great location, historical house, good restaurant with good, affordable traditional German food and a great breakfast, friendly staff. Rooms were quite and comfortable, although a little spartan and you do get the smells from the restaurant below. My only real complaint though is that the booking.com website says children under a certain age stay free when using existing bedding, but this hotel emailed me and said that is not possible, we will need to change to a triple room. I didn't have time to look for another hotel by then or to compare triple room prices, so I felt a bit let down by this. The room was fine though and we really enjoyed touring Rothenberg ob der Tauber.

First off, great location. Just steps from Market Plazt & conveniently located within the walls. No elevator in the building, so expect lots of steps and creaky old floors. We didn't mind though (late 20's and energetic) so it wasn't an issue. Our room was spacious, and comfortable but expect traditional Germany style furnishings. Quick note on beds in Germany: if you request a Queen or double, you will usually get two twin beds pushed together. Staff was very accommodating, especially considering we speak zero German. The free parking lot out back was great, albeit a bit cramped (be careful if your not accustomed to driving a manual). Breakfast was a hearty meal, complete with deli meats and sliced cheese, yogurt, bread and rolls as well as eggs cooked to order. Request the eggs if you want them. We highly recommend the Night Watchman Tour. It began to rain around 7:30 and we were tempted to skip it; however, by 8, it had stopped and we looked into the square to see the tour gathering. Definitely a must see.
