Quiet location, large free parking area directly in front of hotel, you can step out of the hotel and be "downtown" in ten minutes. Adequate room that is a little sparse in decor, bathrooms are small, room was clean. We ate two breakfasts here, nothing special. We found far better food at restaurants closer to the center of town. No free internet access. Overall we were satisfied with the hotel, really enjoyed the town.

Excellent breakfast enhanced by friendly waitresses helped overcome our initial disappointment at the abrupt and unfriendly reception received. The room was excellent and well appointed, but to get to it we had to walk through the restaurant which was disconcerting during meal times. Great view from the room window over the square and surrounding townwall. We only ate one evening meal in the restaurant. The food was very plain and didn't justify the price. The waitress did not speak English and appeared very disinterested in her job. Fortunately my wife was able to translate the menu but the waitress' attitude did not improve.

We stayed in a triple room overlooking the parking square for one night only. . As were traveling on the Romantic Road Bus and this Hotel is situated where the Bus stops, the location was excellent for us. The rooms are spacious and typical German style with plenty of wood. The buffet breakfast was good with lots of beautiful breads on offer. However when I wanted to use the air conditioner to air out our room I was informed there would be a 10 Euro charge to connect the air con. I thought this unreasonable and not encountered this charge before or since. Surely if the room has air conditioning it's already included in the room rate.
I also found the receptionist unfriendly and a bit stern.
A must do for this beautiful town is The Nightwatchman tour. It really is entertaining and well worth it.

Although conveniently located inside the city wall, this is just a so-so hotel. The rooms are quite plain, although roomy, with a sort of rustic feel owing to their light wood and pine decor.

There are few conveniences. The lighting in my room was poor; the television was small and located high on a shelf across the room; my bathroom lacked bars of soap and the soap dispensers there operated badly. I would call this a good budget-type hotel.

The hotel is located just inside the city wall on the far north side of the old town. It is about a 3-block walk to the Market Square. Schrannenplatz, the square on which the hotel is located, is actually a parking lot. Not reading German, I had a difficult time driving to the hotel, even though armed with downloaded maps. The medieval street pattern requires plenty of advance driving planning.
