I booked this hotel based on the great reviews it has gotten on this site.

What a great little hotel. We arrived to friendly staff, got a fabulous room, the largest i have ever had in Europe, great to have a couch and sitting area away from the bed. Bathroom was very modern and clean.

We had one meal in the hotel restaurant and the food was very nice and the price was good too.

The receptionist was very lovely and made our stay very enjoyable. It was very quiet as we were there in winter so i am not sure what it would be like in the summer.

Great location, we walked to the hotel from the train station without any trouble, approx 10 minutes. Good access to all sites from the hotel.

I'd always avoided Rothenburg until now because I assumed it would be too Disney-esque. Visiting in December was I'm sure very different than coming in midsummer. In any event the town is amazing, and the Hotel Markusturm was a great choice. It's got a fantastic location and valet parking. Upon arrival we were invited to look and several rooms and pick the one we liked best. The owner helped lug our baggage up to our room.
By and large the staff are very attentive and helpful, but some of the younger members of staff were distracted and disengaged. Our waitress forgot several things and was generally pretty sullen.
They brew their own beer, and it is excellent.
In short I will certainly stay here again, but most likely will choose to dine elsewhere.

Arrived from Nurnberg by train and had an easy walk to the hotel. What a delight to walk into such a quaint and charming place. Our room was large and very comfortable with a beautifully updated bathroom. We looked right out over the main street into town and had no street noise at all. Breakfast was excellent with made to order eggs if desired. On a night we were going to go out the weather was so bad that we stayed in and had an impromptu "picnic" in the lobby..the owner and her daughter talked with us for quite a while and are delightful.The front desk folks always knew what room we were in and we rarely had to ask for our key. They just handed it to us. If ever in that area again would not hesitate to stay there.

This was our 5th trip to this wonderful part of Germany and to this amazing hotel. We spent New Years here where we also celebrated out 9th anniversary. As usual, we were not disappointed! The owners the Berger's made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make our day very special. We will always return whether it be 2,3 or 4 years, it will always hold a special place in our heart. Thanks again to the Berger's!
