The room was very comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed the balcony! The walk to town along the river was quick and easy and well-lit. We weren't able to log in to the wireless internet service from our room. The breakfast was delicious!

Hotel is situated 15-20 minutes by walk from the town centre and 5 minutes by taxi from train station (around EUR 5-7) in a calm wood-side area, away from roadway, full of other mini-resorts. Hotel is cosy and ideal for people who want have a good sleep after a day of travelling, right place to stay-in for families and romantic getaways. We stayed in a double room (EUR 90 incl. tax) on 1st floor with a balcony, if you planing your trip during warm period, balcony is a great place to have a seat, drink coffee and relax.

The lady, who welcomed us was very kind and well informed about all 'things to do in Fussen and Schwangau', opening times, routes etc. Hotel has its sauna upon request, I didn't visit it, but host mentioned it (you need to ask to turn on sauna half and hour in advance).

Hotel facilities don't include restaurant, but you can find number of places to eat around the hotel. Breakfast in hotel is modest (cereals, cheese, boiled eggs, yoghurt, sliced assorted meat), don't expect large buffet with variety of food. Hotel has its home-style kitchen with everything that you need (fridge, oven, electric pot), where late evening I prepared mulled wine and tea myself.

Other facilities include Wi-Fi, TV, phone.

Things to do near hotel:

Main destination in Fussen are of course its castles which are 15-20 minutes by bus from the Train station.

If you'll have time don't miss to visit Kristall Therme Schwangau spa with few pools incl. open-air pool, dry and wet saunas, it's 5-10 minutes from hotel by taxi (EUR 12-14), be ready staff there can ask you to be nude inside, opening times during weekdays till 10 pm and weekends till 11 pm.

After quite a long drive, we dropped into this hotel without any advanced reservation. They had rooms free, however price was higher than we expected (79 EUR).

In any case. Location is great. Set near woods, quiet., a bit away from the centre. Leading to the centre is a nice walking path beside the river (10-15 minutes of walking). Free parking is just across the street. From outside, hotel looks as a bigger "family" house, and its decorated in alpine style. Everything is typical german, very functional. Rooms are big, some even have balconies. Spa facilities are also available upon request and appointment.

There is a free wireless internet and an OK breakfast are included in the price. The owners are very helpful, and upon request they can give you a small map of Fussen. Castles are a bit away from Fussen, but there are regular buses, you can walk (5km), cycle or take your own car (4,5 EUR parking).

It felt almost like home, and this would be an excellent place to stay for a week or two, to enjoy the nature of bavaria. Unfortunately we stayed just for a night.

Nice hotel that is slightly removed from the city center. The hotel is close to a recreational path that leads to the park, the monestary and the city center. Good sized rooms.
