This is a conveniently located hotel just off the main road through Dinkelsbuhl. We found it on a German hotel booking web service and found it easy to get our reservation. The room was guaranteed with our credit card, but was not charged to our card until we checked out. It's easy to get to, though the map that was provided by the booking service did not include a lot of detail and so we circled town for a bit finding the right street.
When we got there the front door was locked (at 3PM) but using the phone which was by the door, as a sign instructed, the owner was there within a couple of minutes to check us in. We were able to have free parking across the street.
Our room was basic, but clean. The bathroom was standard small European, but adequate. The previous occupant had apparent been smoking on the small balcony so there was some cigarette smell in our room, but cracking the window open took care of that issue. Interestingly, the beds had power head and feet elevations, but one wasn't working properly.
The owner spoke English and was very pleasant. She provided a magnificent breakfast that had just about anything we could want; all the usual cheeses, jams, rolls, meats, eggs, juices, coffee and so on. And the exterior of the hotel was striking for all the flowers that the owner cares for. It almost seemed that the hotel itself was a tourist attraction as there was a fairly steady trickle of folks along the street, most of them stopping to take a picture of the Palmengarten and all its flowers. And we were there early in the season! The owner showed us a picture of the place from the previous summer and it was just spectacular.
The hotel is about 75 meters from the main street through town and about 150 meters from the church. There are several restaurants nearby on the main street, and one almost next door to the hotel. We had a wonderful evening meal at the nearby Eisen Krug and recommend it heartily. We had a pleasant walking through Dinkelsbuhl and seeing the well-preserved building which date from the 1400 and 1500s. This hotel is a pleasant place to stay and is convenient to the whole center of town and we'd stay there again.
