I spent 1 night at the Dorint Hotel in Augsburg. I was there on business, so I wasn't too bothered about the hotel not being in the centre. Check-in was fast and easy. The room (I was on the second floor) was simple, but comfortable. The bed was actually very comfortable and so were the pillows. I always find it difficult to get good pillows in hotels, but the ones at the Dorint were perfect. There was no noise, outside or inside, so I had a pretty good night sleep. There could be a few more amenities in the bathroom, like a box of tissues, but that's only a detail.
Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. There was a choice of breads and pastries, preserves, honey (the forest honey was delicious), yoghurts, fruit salads, cheese, ham, as well as some eggs which they cook at your request.
I would stay there again.

I stayed for one night in the Dorint and was pleasantly surprised. I had a spacious, tastefully - even if not very individually - decorated and (as requested) quiet double room with balcony on the 6th floor. Check-in was quick, friendly and efficient. Room was clean, bathroom provided enough space to put all cosmetics etc., bed was comfortable (just found pillow to soft, but that might be me). Breakfast till 12 am and the buffet offered a broad choice, incl. fresh made eggs in all variations and pancakes. The hotel is a bit outside the city center and you need to take the tram to get there. If you don't mind, this hotel is a very good choice. If however you want to experience the "romantic" and historic Augsburg, you would rather go into the old part of the town which is beautiful.
All in all a very good stay and I would come back again.

Only draw-back: Parking in the garage next door is not for free and be aware you need to validate the park ticket at the hotel reception...which you'll only find out when you're at the garage in front of the machine to pay the ticket. Not very convenient to walk back and forth. But apart from that: nothing to criticize.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as a base for a visit to Legoland Germany the next morning.

We arrived at the hotel at around 6pm by car. It is easily recognizable as this is probably the tallest building in Augsburg. There is a large banner that point drivers to the correct parking garage entrance so you should have no problem parking your car. There are plenty indoor parking spaces and I am absolutely fine with it (the underground floor will light up only when movement is detected).

The reception staff are nice and we are assigned with a room on the 4th floor. The room is clean, spacious and typical 4-star decor (a little bit outdated but still alright). The balcony is large but you can see the neighboring balconies too, so may not have the best privacy here.

Location-wise the hotel is located outside the city centre and there is no shops or restaurants in the close proximity. Since I have my rental car, I didn't use the public transportation (Remember to ask reception to exchange your parking ticket for a one-day ticket, which allow multiple entries).

The breakfast is expensive and we did not use it. Instead we have those Japanese style instant cup noodle. However, the water / coffee boiler is extremely weak and the water is not boiled in over 30 minutes.... end up using warm water for that.

Since we cannot find any good restaurant in the city centre, we end up having dinner in the hotel's restaurant. Although a bit expensive (which is expected), the food is great and we enjoyed it very much.

Overall, a nice 4-* hotel but the location is not very ideal.

This hotel was easy to get to and convenient to walking in to the old part of town. The tram station is right outside. It was easy to purchase the tickets right at the station and take the tram all over town. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds are HARD would be my only criticism and the breakfast was expensive (17 euros per person) for what other comparable hotels charge. You can pay to park in the garage or there was ample parking on the street.
