We stayed at this hotel for one night as a base for a visit to Legoland Germany the next morning.

We arrived at the hotel at around 6pm by car. It is easily recognizable as this is probably the tallest building in Augsburg. There is a large banner that point drivers to the correct parking garage entrance so you should have no problem parking your car. There are plenty indoor parking spaces and I am absolutely fine with it (the underground floor will light up only when movement is detected).

The reception staff are nice and we are assigned with a room on the 4th floor. The room is clean, spacious and typical 4-star decor (a little bit outdated but still alright). The balcony is large but you can see the neighboring balconies too, so may not have the best privacy here.

Location-wise the hotel is located outside the city centre and there is no shops or restaurants in the close proximity. Since I have my rental car, I didn't use the public transportation (Remember to ask reception to exchange your parking ticket for a one-day ticket, which allow multiple entries).

The breakfast is expensive and we did not use it. Instead we have those Japanese style instant cup noodle. However, the water / coffee boiler is extremely weak and the water is not boiled in over 30 minutes.... end up using warm water for that.

Since we cannot find any good restaurant in the city centre, we end up having dinner in the hotel's restaurant. Although a bit expensive (which is expected), the food is great and we enjoyed it very much.

Overall, a nice 4-* hotel but the location is not very ideal.

This hotel was easy to get to and convenient to walking in to the old part of town. The tram station is right outside. It was easy to purchase the tickets right at the station and take the tram all over town. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds are HARD would be my only criticism and the breakfast was expensive (17 euros per person) for what other comparable hotels charge. You can pay to park in the garage or there was ample parking on the street.

I travel internationally on a regular basis for work and have frequently found the local (non U.S. chain) hotels less than satisfactory to me. I am a picky traveler anymore! I thought that I would stay in the Dorint one night and probably want to move to Munich but I ended up loving the room, service and proximity to my client.
I would recommend the following advice to others who consider staying here:
• Upgrade to the business room. Plenty of room, with a nice big desk.
• If you don't mind walking get breakfast at one of the local bakeries...walk out to the main busy street and go left or right and you will find one in 10 minutes. Otherwise you will pay 17 Euro for breakfast. I can't eat 17 euro worth of breakfast!
• Also, dinner is pricey. Walk to the main street and then make a left and walk 15 minutes to the town center, lots of better restaurants that will cost you 25% of what you would pay at the hotel.
• If you don't want to deal with the AutoBahn email the hotel ahead of time and for 50 euro (cash) they will have a driver pick you up and deliver you to the hotel. (There is an ATM on the right side as you leave customs).
• Let them know if you are coming in early. I came in at 10am, and my colleague a little earlier, they had clean rooms waiting for us at no extra charge.
• Only thing I didn't like was that they had no take out coffee...fortunately I had my thermal cup that went to the airport with me and they filled it for me ;)

Unable to find good reasonably priced accommodation for New Year's Eve, this was a great find: a quiet, comfortable and spacious room; balcony perfect for watching New Year's Eve fireworks glass of wine in hand and a meal in the dining room that was top class. A brisk walk to the city centre for cultural sites of the oldest city in Barvaria.
Breakfast with 'on the spot' scrambled eggs cooked by the chef was a delightful surprise. Not sure if we'll ever be back in Augsburg but if so we'll stay at this hotel.
