Stayed here on a family visit in January, so not peak tourist season. The hotel was not full and we may have been allocated better than average rooms, but we thought we had excellent value - €92 for a room for our two teenagers including breakfast, use of the pool and sauna, beer/soft drinks from the minibar. We had a "comfort" room, which was larger but same facilities. Both rooms had small balconies with great views over the oldest part of town. It's no drawback that the hotel doesn't have a restaurant as you are in reach of some good places - try the Rathauskeller for a start. Breakfast was good, (teenagers would have liked bacon and sausage but liked the waffles and fresh o-juice) and the pool was nice - although you have to ask for the sauna to be put on in advance as it takes a while to warm up. Only slight negative comment, which seems to be the same for all German hotels - larger fluffier bath towels would be nice, as would extra pillows. Staff were friendly and efficient, able to recommend restaurants, tell us the way to places etc. There are some rooms that are reachable only with steps, so if you have heavy luggage or can't cope with steps, then ask specifically for a room reachable on a level from the lift.

I stayed at the Dom hotel while visiting Augsburg and its Christmas market. The hotel is located in a quiet corner close to the beautiful cathedral and about 6 minutes walk from the Rathaus and the Christmas market. The receptionist was very helpful and kind. The hotel has got a swimming pool although we didn't use it so I cannot comment on that. Parking and wi-fi internet are free. The room was large and clean and the breakfast was fine.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to other travellers.

I have stayed the Dom Hotel foe two nights, as part of a small group. The location is perfect to move around the city, with free parking facilities. Also, breakfast was really nice and the rooms extremelly clean. However, the only "but" I found was the serviced provided from the staff. Although most of them were very efficient, they were very serious, not friendly. Specially the older lady at the reception was a bit rude and even a bit intimidating. I work in a hotel myself and I believe that the most valuable asset is customer care, more important even than confort or location. The rest of the staff members were very helpfull, although they should smile a little more.
Apart from that, I do recommend the hotel as it is convenient, clean and has a lot of facilities.

The hotel is good and the staff is very helpfull. Good facilities for bikers.
