I'm afraid that we couldn't find anything romantic about this hotel at all, despite the name. Cramped downstairs quarters, functional decor there and in our rooms - nothing warming or out of the ordinary.

It wasn't the hotel's fault that we stayed in a heat wave, but the ceiling fan was wholly inadequate, and the room sweltering.

Fortunately, it wasn't the heat that kept us awake, but the road outside. (Shutting the windows wasn't an option in the circumstances, but would have made little difference.) This is a city centre hotel, so you have to expect some noise, but this was exceptional. The combination of all night traffic, early morning cleaning and refuse collection, trams, narrow streets bordered by high buildings and noisy road surfaces was almost comically disturbing.

The hotel staff would have moved us to a quieter room after our first night, if they'd had one available, but they didn't, and said that they didn't have many quiet rooms anyway. We baled out.

So - if you're at all sensitive to noise, make sure you get a quiet room or look elsewhere.

This is a very comfortable hotel that is conveniently located just inside the Augsburg old city walls. It has excellent off-street parking next to the hotel and a very helpful reception to help you organize transfers etc. Bettina at reception made us feel very welcome and helpfully provided walking maps, recommend restaurants, etc. The restaurant serves delicious Bavarian food - one of the best meals we had along the road.

I'd highly recommend this hotel as a stop along the Romantic Road. What's more, we flew out of Munich airport the next morning and the hotel was only 60 minutes from here.

I use this hotel regularly for business nad it is very good from a location point of view as well as for food and comfort.

A very nice hotel with quaint rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good location for walking to downtown. Good breakfast. Recommend that you not get a room that faces the trolley track since it can be loud. Restaurant is excellent.
