The hotel staff provided a warm welcome and the service was great. The buffet breakfast was superb - a large and excellent variety of food. The main transport hub is only a short ride by tram (which stops near the hotel).

Have stayed at many Mercure hotels world wide, and this was very disappointing. First we were given keys to an uncleaned room. Once they gave us the correct room, we had to ask for extra pillows, then bathrobes, then internet access - all of which were to be included. Flooring wasn't nice, had molded areas. Although the room was to have coffee service, sadly it didn't have a coffee maker but a hot pot with granulated coffee, 2 each decaf and regular. Front desk staff raved that everything in the mini bar was included, that was two bottles of water and soda. Rain shower was a nice touch, but it dripped and was noisy. Sink not user friendly, stainless steel and at such an angle that it splashed you. They say it's 800 m from train station, that is underestimated, it's quite a walk. There was no cafe to get coffee in the day time. Many better lodging options in Nurnberg!

We had stayed in this hotel years back - before they remodeled. We enjoyed our stay this time, as well, although the room took a little getting used to. The glass shower stall is pretty much in the center of the room and there is no door on the bathroom. It was OK for us, but wouldn't suit a person/couple who are used to privacy in the bathroom. Hotel location isn't exactly downtown, but we didn't mnd the walk plus the tram stop is just outside the front door. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING - one of the best/nicest hotel breakfasts we've had in Europe. And, last but not least, the staff was great - helpful and friendly. We'd stay there again.

This was our first time at this hotel - it was easy to find and parking at hotel was good. We had an excellent meal in the hotel and they had a very good buffet breakfast. No permanent door on toilet - the shower door is used for this purpose. So no shower if toilet is occupied. No plug for wash basin - a terrible waste of water.
