“Quick service, Good food, many amenities”

I have stayed their for five days with my colleagues. We came there first time in Germany for business purpose and found this hotel very near to Nuremberg Messe center and with good service with affordable price. The staff is polite and helpful. Only some time we have addressed some language problem understanding with some staff. There is quick and efficient service. We must recommend to stay this hotel once more.

“Quite location in a park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

The Mercure Nuremberg an der Messe is located in the park near to the Messe/fair and the the former „Reichsparteitagsgelände“. The Dokumentationszentrum is a 15 min walk through the park away.
Parking is available (fee), net public transport is U-Bahnlinie 1 stop Bauernfeindstrasse (subway) with services to the main station (10 min) and to the airport (25 min, change at main station). Unfortunately, the walk to stop Bauernfeindstrasse is 10 min (to fair 15min) at the sidewalk of an often congested highway with the park on the other side. So maybe not the best bet in the dark. There is a gas station right in front of hotel, offering the “mini-bar-service” the hotel rooms lacks of. However, there are vending machines in the hotel floors.

The rooms have been renewed, offering nice 70 style furniture, flat-TV and compfy, not too soft, beds. Wi-Fi is available at 9€/ 24hours. Rooms to the back are very quite, didn’t test the front one. But the street is a hundred meters away, so they shouldn’t be noisy either.
Didn’t’ have breakfast.

“Very Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2008

Booked this hotel via the Expedia website. Purpose of the trip was to visit Nuremberg for the xmas market with husband and 5 year old daughter.

Thought the room was excellent - had a triple bed (good for sharing with little one - no extra charge for her if she shared our bed). Bathroom was very well equipped and clean. Had a flat screen tv, shame I dont speak German so couldnt watch it! Room also had a sofa. Room was so big my daughter described it as a little house! Tea and coffee making facilites were good also. Free parking available - had to park a little way from the hotel though as the parking area directly outside had become full. Hotel located in the parkland area, and we had snow when we were there, so little one had a great time playing!

Underground stop is about a 5 - 10 min walk away. You can catch the underground directly into the xmas market area for about 1.90 euros per adult and .90 per child. Only problem was figuring out how to use the machine...

We ordered room service the first night we were there. Sausages and turkey were good. Avoid the beef broth like the plague, as it is literally just a very expensive bowl of brown water.
We didnt have breakfast whilst we were there as 16 euros seemed excessive. Beware of the price of soft drinks ....

The staff were friendly enough, although you dont get the personal service in a big hotel like this and do just feel like a "number" (compared to smaller places we have stayed in).

Only downside is the hotel was further away from xmas market area than we had been led to believe. Not a problem unless you have small children with you!

  • Liked — Quality of room
  • Disliked — Value for money, distance from xmas market area, parking become full so had to park further away

“Decent hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2007

Stayed at the Mercure for one night in November. Was unable to secure a room in Nurnberg city centre, so took a room at this property. Turned out to be a good decision. Despite undergoing some internal redevelopment, i enjoyed a pleasant and comfortable stay. Although not in Nurnberg city centre, the hotel is 10 minutes from an underground station which will take you straight into the heart of Nurnberg in about 10 more minutes. If you aren't into public transport, the hotel can easily organise a taxi service. Good value rooms and worth considering if you cannot find anything downtown.
