“Location! Location! Location!”

We stayed at the Hotel Andi for two nights in mid December, on a vacation to Munich. Just out the front door and down the sidewalk, in 10 minutes you will find yourself in the Marienplatz, the very heart of Munich. We could easily navigate on foot to many of the main attractions in Munich. Michael, at the front desk was exceedingly helpful with providing directions and general information. The neighborhood where the hotel is located seemed safe and quiet. Our room was small, clean and comfortable. As an American traveling in Europe I have learned to adjust my expectation regarding room size, especially when I am staying in an historic city. I prefer location. The breakfast was wonderful. Considering the cost of hotel rooms in Munich, I think this hotel is a wonderful value, not to mention a great place to stay!

“Better than expected”

After so many horrible showers and uncomfortable beds, it was nice to get both a good shower and a good night sleep here.
The front office staff is WONDERFUL. I love coming back to a hotel and be greeted like they know you. We came down to breakfast late one morning, (it felt good to sleep in) they kept it open for us! It was so nice and thoughful. The breakfast is nothing great, but it was fresh and always refreshed with new items.

“Convenient and reasonable”

Hotel is a very easy walk from the main train station (even hauling luggage) and to many of the main tourist sites in town. Our room was a triple, but we paid for a double -- plenty of space and though the beds were small, my husband and I both found them comfortable. Room decor (chairs, lamps) were dingy. Bathroom was clean.
The woman at the desk we encountered most was not friendly nor was she at all interested in making recommendations for good local restaurants or amenities. A woman working the late shift was very nice and helpful. Everyone spoke excellent English, a real plus. Klaus, who ran the breakfast room, was great -- helpful and personable. Breakfast was far better than most hotel breakfasts. The coffee was not great but there was self-service espresso.
Hotel is in a seedy area, but did not feel at all dangerous, except for the vast swaths of second-hand smoke streaming down every sidewalk (about the same in most parts of Munich). We'd stay again. Though I liked Munich so much, I'd like to stay closer to Marianplatz, Tor Sendl, or the viktualmarket where one could walk out the door and be in the thick of the historic areas.

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times total. It is clean and conveniet walking distance to all the Marienplatz and train station. The area is a bit colorful, but have never had any problems.

“Terrible experience”

This was our seventh and last stay at this hotel. We were there for Oktoberfest. Room was not ready and were told to just leave luggage in unclean room. The curtain were very dirty, the beds were awful, could feel the springs in your back and the small tv had one message all day "no signal". I will never stay at this hotel again. Our six visits were fine but this last visit will be the last. Consider another hotel please.
