This was my first stay at a GHOTEL and I was pleasantly surprised. My company booked the room, as it was part of a business stay in Munich. As I stayed there from Wednesday to Monday, I was able to get a good feeling of the hotel and its services.
First of all, I really liked the location. By taking the underground train to "Sendlinger Tor" or the tram to "Karlsplatz (Stachus)", it took only a few minutes to be in the city center. If the weather had been warmer, I would have probably taken a walk, but opted of the public transportation in this case.
The staff at the reception was friendly at all times. The check-in went quickly and was well prepared. As I forgot my mobile phone charger, they were able to provide me with one to use during my stay. I thought that it was a nice touch, that they always had a bowl of apples next to the reception, which gave me my daily dose of vitamins.
I also liked the fact that they had a small area next to the front desk where you could use a computer and were able to log-in to the free Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi in the rooms was available as well, but not free of charge). I should say that despite of liking the fact that they had this area, I didn't make use of it. From walking by, it also seemed that they had a kind of coffee station for self service in this area.
They also had a shoe polishing mashine which worked fine and the shoe polish was always full (usually it is empty all the time at a lot of other places I visited). Having quite some snow outside, I used it each day before and after work.
The room was spacious and clean, it even offered a kitchnette (nicely hidden by sliding doors) along with a fridge and a freezer. The bathroom was also spacious and clean, the water pressure of the shower was just right and the water temperature was stable once you found the right one (I have experience places, where the water only dripped out and the temperature changed from boiling hot to freezing cold in a split second). One thing I would change though is the fact, that there was no plastic bag inside the trash bin in the bathroom, which I found not too hygienic, when thinking of all the things people could dispose of inside.
The room was equipped with a flat screen TV and offered (besides from all the regular German TV channels) some channels from the usual pay-tv service sky (three movie and two sport channels).
As I left for work early each morning, I did not experience the breakfast buffet.
At a rate of 66,- € per night (excl. breakfast) I really like this hotel and might choose it again, when coming back to Munich.
