Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding - free if you're a Marriott member but pricey if you have to pay. Very clean. Close to lots of sights. Would stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago, and it was good. This trip was horrible. Service was lacking. Breakfast was overpriced. We are Marriot Gold Elite and were treated like we were 3rd class citizens. Won't stay there again.

We stayed here in mid-January as part of a group. Everything was fine -- the staff was typically Marriott friendly and efficient, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and you can't beat the location, just 3 short blocks south of the main train station HBF! The small lobby was always buzzing with a bevy of people checking in and out but we never had to wait more that 5 minutes even at the busy times. Make no mistake -- there is no concierge or bell staff. But the front desk staff was always able to answer my questions and make suggestions. It was a superb value!!!!

I guess we're the prejudiced American travelers to whom the East German reviewer referred in an earlier posting. We hadn't realized what the neighborhood was like when we booked, and when we arrived at the hotel, we were shocked and disappointed to find ourselves not only in a seedy neghborhood with sex shops and gambling casinos, but also in the heart of the Middle East rather than the heart of Bavaria. Hotel itself was nice, service okay (manager made us sign a receipt to use an umbrella!), food okay. We refused to spend a second night there and found a very nice hotel in a very nice neighborhood just five minutes on the other side of the Marienplatz for a lower price than the Courtyard, with a free breakfast (100 times better than the Courtyard) and free unlimited internet in the room. We'll be back to Munich again and you can be sure we'll know where not to stay next time.
