I've been on business now for a few months in Munich and staying in a lot of different hotels thanks to oktoberfest and the rapid speed to which they book out whenever there is a trade fair. The Hotel Kent is one of the worst I've stayed in, it's fine for a two night stopover, but I wouldn't want to spend much time here.
It barely deserves it's 3 stars - Rooms are average size for europe, but clearly have not been updated since the 70's. My room was brown curtains with brown walls and a brown bed, with a brown table next to a brown wardrobe. It doesn't exactly pick you up when you get back from a long day at work.
None of the channels on the TV had good reception, except for at 11pm at night when they all suddenly started working. At all times you could hear what was going on in the corridor and next door.
Bathroom is very cramped, and the combination of a powerful shower with a shower curtain that bairly reaches the edges of the chipped shower base (again brown) is a recipe for flooding every morning. Also the extractor fan seemed to be blowing cigarette smoke into the room from next door, rather than sucking out the steam form the shower.
As far as the location goes, it's not 100% ideal for sightseeing - there are better hotels for the same price right in the centre. It is however convenient for the airport, since the S-Bahn line (S8) station Englshalking is only two streets from the hotel. If you don't mind the 15min S8 ride into the centre then you could use it as a base for visiting things (trains run every 20min).
The only saving grace as far as I was concerned was the Breakfast room, It's new, nicely decorated, and whilst the spread of breakfast food was not anything to shout about, it did the job.
