I stayed at the Ampervilla for 1 night because the hotel I planned to stay in outside of Munich was full. This hotel was out in the middle of nowhere set in the middle of farm country surrounding Munich. (about 20 kilometers or 30 minutes by taxi (normally). However, it was surprisingly nice. It appears to be recently built. Like a house with an entrance like a home. Very small, but very clean, with modern rooms
well decorated and nice modern baths (Grohe fixtures and marble). Since I was alone,
I ate in the restaurant (1 of 2 people there) and the food was surprising excellent.
A very fresh Omble Chevalier (Lake Fisht) served with fresh asperagus and hollandaise
sauce. Good wine list and excellent service- probably due to the lack of people.
Could not get an internet connection via the phone and no high speed access, so was not able to email.
The downside is of course the location, being out in the "boondocks" there is nothing to
do but get a good nights rest as there is no noise. Munich is about 30-40 minutes away, so it is possible to go there, but a taxi ride for me was 1 hour fromn the airport as the driver got lost twice (really is out in farm country). I would probably not return as the location is really a negative factor. Otherwise it is a nice place with nice people and service.
