Small Hotel located on a quiet street near the main train station. 5 min walk to the edge of the walkplatz, and 15 min stroll to Marienplatz. U-bahn and S-bahn stops 1-2 blocks away. The hotel is about a ½ block off of Bayrnstrasse, the main street, which always has a lot of foot traffic—but never did we feel unsafe, as you can near a main train station.
The hotel has 5 floors and a small lift. There is no parking; they have a deal with a parking garage about 3 blocks away for 5 Euro per day (which in this area is a steal!). If driving keep someone with the car as you unload--while I was checking in and taking a bag up to the room, a ‘meter maid’ stopped and tried to give my husband a ticket. She walked away but stuck around until we moved car. There are a lot of one-way streets, so a GPS is best to find the building by car. If walking from the train station the hotel is well marked you will see it from the end of the street.
The rooms are clean and comfy but some of them are really small and as the other reviews stated, so are the bathrooms---though the shower is nice and roomy. We were on the 5th floor and had a very small room with a large balcony. Our parents were on the 3rd floor and they had a small walkway for a balcony but more space in the bed area of the room. The rooms have nice flat screen TVs and a mini-fridge. Pay as you go Wi-fi for around 1 Euro an hour and better deals for longer time periods.
There is a casino/bar in the basement of the building next door, so as I walked in I thought ‘what did I just book’ but we never heard it and there is not a crowd out front.
The breakfast buffet is great! Food keeps coming and coming, they have eggs made to order sometimes you have to ask. The staff is friendly and all of them spoke English.
The hotel will gladly store luggage if you arrive early or would like to sightsee after check out.
