My friend and I were in Munich to visit the Christmas Markets. She had stayed at the Hotel Uhland on a previous trip and enjoyed the friendly staff and classic hotel. We were not disappointed, the staff was always very accommodating and friendly, and breakfast room was also very pleasant with a nice variety of fruits, cereals, etc. and the coffee was excellent, brought to us in our own little coffee pot.
We reserved our room approximately 6-8 weeks prior to our arrival and had requested a non-smoking room, unfortunately the hotel does not guarantee non-smoking rooms so we ended up in a smoking room. While the staff did their best to eliminate the heavy smoke smell by cleaning the carpet and opening the windows, it still lingered. The room had a small, private sleeping room connected to the larger room, the only problem was that the room was very narrow and had a double bed when it should have had a twin bed. As a result, there was not enough room for a bedside table or lamp. The best that that the staff could do was to bring me a box on which I could put my book, glasses and tv control. While not ideal, it worked and was brought to me very quickly.

The larger room was roomy and comfortable, and before we left we had a chance to look into one of the renovated rooms which were very nice. I would still definitely recommend this hotel, and would gladly return there again.

had a little difficulty finding hotel from autobahn, but a couple helpful Munechners directed us to location. Staff was friendly and helpful with info on sightseeing. Hotel was within a decent walking distance from stadtmitte where there was abundant street entertainment and farmers' market. Would stay again.

As a party of 3 couples stayed here in September, for 2 nights, walking distance from train station in quiet area of Munich. Rooms were clean and airy with free wifi for those with their own computer, otherwise computer available to use in the lounge area. Buffet breakfast was included in the price with a good variety of foods to suit most pallets. Staff were extremely helpful and very willing to offer suggestions about local restaurants and things to do. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a week at the end of November and beginning of December. After much research and agonizing over a choice, we decided on the Hotel Uhland and could not be more pleased. It is located in a quiet neighborhood that is walking distance to two different metro stations, the train station and even the center of town if you do not mind a 20 minute walk. Both Lenz and Cafe am Beethoven are easy walking distance and had excellent food with good prices.
The staff is especially friendly and helpful. Be sure to ask about the piggy bank where you can leave any gratuities so the whole staff can share them, as they rotate shifts and the specific person you might like to recognize might not be there when you depart. Also, many of the staff work behind the scenes to make your stay special. They made restaurant suggestions and reservations for us, helped us book a day trip to Neuschwanstein, went over all the metro and trolley maps with us when we needed help and answered our constant questions with a smile.
Fresh water and glasses were always out in the lobby, and on the weekends, there was, in winter, gluhwein and sweets. The coffee machine in the lounge even made espresso, and there was just an honor cup if you wished to donate something. The computer was available in the lounge area, and they even put out sanitizing wipes for the keyboard. Each room received a large bottle of sparkling water every day, and there was free wi-fi which could be picked up somewhere in most rooms. If you have your own vehicle, there is off street parking available.
The hotel was being painted and many of the rooms were being updated while we were there, so we are hoping that the rates do not increase too much in the future. Right now, it is a very good value for the quality of the rooms, location and the staff.
