Spent 2 nights here during Oktoberfest. We were given a room on 5th floor in the attic. The lift only goes up to level 4 so if you are disabled/mobility impaired/have really heavy baggage, pre-book a lift accessible room. And the stairs are quite creaky; you feel like you are going to go through them at any moment! Room quite small, just enough room to put 2 suitcases on floor, roof slanted and we were surprised to find we’d been given 2 single beds instead of a double as per our original booking. We did however see into one or two other rooms and discovered that not all the rooms are as small as ours was. Took train from Munchen HBF to Odeonstrasse (2 stops) and then a 5-10 minute walk, but the University underground stop is also close and a shorter walk so once you get the hang of the efficient German metro system, the location isn't too much of an issue. Best included breakfast we have had so far into week 3 of our trip (a variety of good quality cold meats and cheese, boiled eggs and toast, variety of fruits, pastries/breads, cereals juices, coffees and (herbal!) teas (very rare in European hotels as we've discovered)). Polite staff. Cleanest sheets I've seen in a hotel in a long time. Tight security after 9pm, you need to enter a code into the door on the street. Your stay is determined by other patrons; we were on a floor with loud Americans who would come back to their room late at night and carry on a conversation in the hallway - no fault of the hotel's though, except perhaps for having thin walls!
