I stayed at the Das hotel for a couple of days in December. The Hotel entrance is at the side of the street and the lobby is on the first floor. I found it to be a bit of a problem since i was carrying 2 big peices of luggage. There is a lift on the ground floor that takes you the lobby but it's quite small and once igot my 2 peices of luggage inside there was no space for anyone else to fit in. The check in was smooth and i was in my room in 5 mins. Now coming to the room, its quite small its like narrow corridor. There was no cupboard to put my stuff but instead there was mid sized chest. With two luggae peices on the floori literally was hopping over it if i had to go to the other side of the room. The shower and the bath are detached. The walls are paperthin and you can actually hear the flush in the other room. But you kinda get used to it after some time. The shower was decent with hot water. No english channels on their cable. Their buffet breakfast is very good with a huge spread. In terms of staff friendliness it was top notch. The staff were more than ready to help and are quite patient when it comes to answering your queries or doubts.Room service was also quick when i asked for extra towels. Everyone speaks English so no worries there :-)
The location is bang on. Its on university street and its filled with a lot of pubs and restaurants. Lots of students around. The metro is just 7 mins walk from the Hotel and marienplatz is just two stations away. Overall in terms of location its perfect.
So woulld i recommend it? I think they are maybe over priced by 10 - 15 euros. It would VFM then. Also considering the size of the room if i was with my partner then it would get really cramped. But in terms of customer service, location and the breakfast buffet i think they are right there on the top.
Overall i would give it a 6.5/10
