The Senefelder is a very clean but simple style of accommodation.
Being directly across the road from the train station and walking distance to all the main tourist sights is its best feature.
Our triple room was very large with three single beds, each with one pillow and a doona. There were no extra blankets or pillows. The floor was tiled with 2 large persian type rugs. There was a small alcove with a table and 2 chairs. In a cupboard to the side was a small television, which due to wall partitions was impossible to see from the bedroom area. The bathroom had a large bath with a hand held type shower but no shower screen or curtain which made not getting water every where quite a tricky feat. There were no tea and coofee making facilities but there were vending machines at the front desk. The elevator was very small. The lighting was not really sufficient if wanting to read tourist books or write a journal. Our room overlooked a back street which wasn't very interesting until it was home time for the workers or when the garbage trucks passed through. You have to leave your key at the front desk whenever you leave the premises. The internet access is not as up to date as perhaps it should be but it is free to guests.
The rooms are serviced daily for towels but not linen.
The hot breakfast is a boiled egg & tea or coffee........ the buffet part is very good with fresh rolls, cereal, cold meats, cheeses, salads, fresh fruit , yoghurt etc.
Now my review probably doesn't portray the Senefelder as the best hotel however we had a fabulous stay. The staff were very friendly and knew us all even after such a short stay. The ladies at breakfast were gorgeous so much so we gave one a koala for looking after us so well.
We could walk to everything that we wanted to see, the Beer Gardens, The shopping centres, the glockenspiel tower.....The museum and the main bus stop for the tours was just across the road. From the train station (as long as you come out of the right exit) it is simply across the road and a few metres down a side street. It is not at all noisy despite the traffic. There is a reasonable Italian Restaurant right next door. About 5 mins walk is a shopping centre with a supermarket, bakery etc. There are several underground walkways that also link back to this area due to the hotels proximity to the rail station. Getting around couldn't have been easier. It was very clean and has a family feel. If travelling independently by train in Europe I can recommend this hotel for its convenience and value for money.
