We stayed here from 12 through 16 September, 2010 (we were in Munich at the beginning of a longer vacation). The hotel is within easy walking distance of the main train station and Marienplatz so that's a bonus. The reception staff were friendly and professional - the afternoon we checked in we were brought a nice welcome gift of wine and peanuts. The second day, two apples were left for us. The breakfast was great with a nice variety of bread, meats, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt, fruit juice and eggs cooked to order. The room had its own bathroom (a plus) and a TV - but no channels in English. (I know, I know, but after several days of having no Internet access, it would have been nice to have CNN or BBC or Sky...something in English). The room was wired for Internet but you need a cable - we didn't bother to ask the front desk for one, we just found wi-fi hotspots in the city. The beds were a little uncomfortable - two twin matresses pushed together so one of us usually ended up half "in the crack" between the two. I've lived in Europe before so I know that this is kind of the way "double" beds are done in hotels. The room was very small and a little dark but it was clean. My only gripe was that we paid the equivalent of $300 per night and I pictured a more spacious and elegant place for $300 per night. This was the least expensive hotel room that I was comfortable booking (3 stars...not comfortable booking a lower rated place without seeing it). I think the problem was that we were there the week before Oktoberfest begun. Had we been in Munich at another time, $300 per night would have gotten us a much nicer place. But, having said all that, it was safe, clean, convenient and the staff was great so I would stay there again.
