“I liked only friendly staff...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

"+" - location near main rail station and city center, very friendly staff on reception, good mattress.
"-" - noisy street, very poor breakfast (worst from 3 hotels in Germany), old squeaky wooden ladder (no lift), old furniture and TV in room ( you receive remote control unit on reception :-)))), no coffe and tea facilities in room, poor sound insulation, awful pillows.

“Quaint hotel with a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

My family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted something close to the main train station as well as a short walk to the xmas markets and main attractions. The location was spot on.
The room was not overly large for a quad room bearing in mind that we did have 2 teenagers which meant it was a bit tight. The single bed contained a trundle underneath. The staff were lovely and it did have 24hr service and free internet. The decor is a little old fashioned with lots of wood and the breakfast was adequate. Luckily our room was on the 1st floor so only had 1 flight of stairs to deal with heavy bags. Overall a good hotel in a great spot.

“great find”

Hotel is as close to the old town as you can get without paying a fortune! Easy walking distance to the main station but just a couple of minutes from the ring road round the old town (subway convenient for avoiding the traffic). The rooms look old fashioned but in a charming-rustic way. The staff were really nice.
In common with a few other places we stayed in Germany the free wifi was designed for one device per room (not great when there are two of you each with laptop, iphone etc!) - the receptionist here was good about accommodating our needs but other hotels would not. I usually travel alone so had never encountered this - would certainly make more detailed enquiries about wifi when travelling with others in the future.

“Would stay again!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We stayed her for one night on december 27 2011. The staff are polite and helpful, the room was very clean, and the hotel is in a good location close to the Marienplatz, HBF, and subway stations. The only other information we would provide is that our room (#36) was small - but it suited our needs, and that if you don't do stairs...there's quite a few to get to the upper floors. I would emphasize that we would definitely stay here again though and the breakfast was EXCELLENT! Thank you Hotel Eder.

“What a delight tio stay there!”

The location is great. It is quiet since it is off the corner from a main street. Very close to the train station, and the area really is quite safe. It walking distance to most of the main attractions. I liked the breakfast. It is substantial yet not wasteful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The wifi worked very well. I had a room for three persons and it was very spacious!! The only drawback was the lack of an elevator. So, travel light and be ready to bring your luggage up the flights of stairs. Very charming interior, with much wood! Would stay there again next time.
