This is a good place to stay if you are in Munich and on a budget. My wife and I stayed for 50 euros per night. We stayed in a double room with the bath down the hallway. It's not as bad as you think. the bathroom was kept very clean and sanitary. We were in the building in the back on the third floor. It was very quiet and were able to get good sleep. It is a resonable walk to Marienplatz from the pension. Would stay here again.

We were given a very large, airy room with bath for 2 in the rear building behind a courtyard. The room had an excellent large bed and a large bathhroom. You DO have to climb stairs. Avoid the front building as the streetcars run long hours in front. Nice continental breakfast provided. Helpful staff and good value for the money. Close to 3 streetcar lines and Deutsche Museum. We will go back again. Good value.
I thought that the Beck was disappointing at best. Dirty rooms, extremely pungent staff, and an absurd "breakfast" consisting of hard bread and butter. The rooms are dirt cheap though, and if money is your constraint, it is a bearable accomodation in the wonderful city of Munich.
