We stayed two nights at the Kaiserplatz pension. Frau Jacobi and her son were both friendly and welcoming. All the rooms seem to be on the ground floor on one corridor. Everything was clean and the furnishings are very adequate. We had amazing wallpaper which added a touch of elegance.
Breakfast is brought in on a tray in the morning. You go and ask the woman at the front desk for your preferences. It was simple but copious.
Getting into Munich was easy - a five minute walk to the U-bahn and then at most 10 minutes into the centre. The pension is in an elegant residential area near the university.
If you want a reasonably priced room in a nice quiet accessible area don't hesitate.

Ideal stay for young families close to the subway line in the calm part of Schwabing. The in-room breakfast was much appreciated. Cheap street parking (6 euros for 24h) nearby. Warm welcome from Frau Jakobi!

Our family of four (two kids (11 and 15) and two adults) spent five nights at the Pension am Kaiserplatz---the beginning of our trip and at the end. I had stayed at the pension in 1985, after my graduation from college. Since the pension does not have a web-site or an e-mail address, I called Frau Jakobi directly. I then sent a follow-up letter with the reservation dates. Frau Jakobi is an older woman with lots of enthusiasm; she enjoys talking to her guests. Her son, Thomas, helps her run the pension, since the rooms are on various levels and she is older.

Each morning we received a breakfast of coffee/tea/milk--request cold, because in Germany they warm the milk--fresh rolls, various jams and meat spreads. Our room was on the first floor, so we didn't have to carry our luggage upstairs--no elevator. Our room was very clean with lots of towels. The shower and bathroom were on the hall. We were never inconvenienced by having to wait to us the WC or the shower. The pension is in a great location on the Munchener Freiheit U-bahn exit (U3 or U6) and is a secure building with a locked main door and then a locked hall door.
