“disappointing: an affordable bed, but little else”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 June 2011

I can't really recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself is pleasant enough, and the staff were helpful and efficient. My standard double room was not large, but it was adequate. The price was moderately affordable. There was a sauna (& fitness?) facility that I didn't explore.

Why my negativity? Well, mainly for the location. It doesn't seem to be near to anything. The end of the nearest U-bahn line is about 15 minutes' walk away. The city centre is about 10 minutes' ride along that line. I was attending a conference at another hotel - there are several near that U-bahn station.

Presumably as a function of the location, the hotel wanted an incredible EUR 21 for breakfast. I didn't partake. There is a bakery about 10 minutes' walk down Effnerstrasse which is perhaps the nearest alternative.

Oh, and just to make the sense of Isolation complete, wifi access costs extra, too, and the range of TV channels was nothing special.

Would I go back to this hotel from choice? Sadly, no.

“Comfortable, Convenient & A Good Price”

If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay at an affordable price, this hotel is a great pick! Only a 10 minute walk to the u-bahn station, this hotel isn't in the heart of the city, but is only a short trip away.

The staff was pleasant and helpful in providing activity ideas and maps upon request. There is free internet available in the lobby, and wi-fi available for purchase.

Overall it was a good hotel and we'd recommend it to anyone staying in Munich.

“Munich Is amazing an is even better with a good hotel”

1st the hotel is close to everything important. It's not in the middle of everything but close enought.

The people who work there all know the city at least to tell you the good turistic places and the not so turistic. They have free maps and they can hook u up with car rentals, turist services, etc. Most of them have a good level of english and the ones that not, at least are understandable.

The room is comfortable, not to big but enought to have a good night sleep and a nice shower/bath.

“A solid hotel but slighty out the way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

Visited this Holiday Inn during my trip to Munich for Oktoberfest recently. The previous year I was closer in the City Centre by Karlzplatz station in a Marriot which had everything close but booked late so ended up further away (so my review almost goes as a comparison to that!)

Anyhow you know the deal with Holiday Inn - clean and spacious enough rooms with double beds for a cheap price. The usual ammenities are there with room service etc but as I was with a big group for Oktoberefest our main concern was just having clean spacious rooms to come back and crash in!

The only ptroblem was the location but even then it was just a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel to the closest U-bahn station which is Arrabellapark and that takes you into the centre of munich in 10 minutes.

The area the hotel is in is pretty quiet and seems more of an industrial area for upcoming busineses and nice homes but fortunately there's a petrol station next door to the hotel to get convenience items. (if you want to avoid paying expensive hotel prices for drinks, food etc.)

All in all a solid hotel in terms of the service and value they provide but I'd recommend you find somewhere closer to the centre if that's where you'll be spending the majority of your time in Munich.
