“very mediocre - I have seen better NHs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

We have been staying at this hotel withseveral colleagues during the Productronica2011 exhibition.
I liked beeing just 10 min away from the exhibition ground, having a good Italian restaurant next door, enough space in the underground car park, a Sauna on place, a bar that was always busy (I hate working at night alone in my room, I like to sit in a bar with some people around), very patient staff (it took me 30 min to get the hotel invoice right, quite complex with several colleagues, different booking classes etc) - I disliked: far too many people, rooms had all you need, but were rather simple, breakfast room was out of everyhing and much too small. We will stay here again during exhibitions, but mainly because it's so close to the exhibition ground.

“Great Hotel.. Great People..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

This is a great to stay while visiting Munich. We paid a few dollars more and got the larger room with free coffee, Wifi and a better view. The staff was very good but sometimes a little overworked. The rooms were large, clean and a little pricy but it was Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest is like a State Fair promoted and paid for by large beer companies. The people were very nice especially to Americans. The food was good and if you wanted to drink beer.. well it is Oktoberfest. It is crowded. We were old that the Munich's population more than triples. We only saw a few people who were intoxicated and they appeared to be tourists.

It is a lot of fun but we were happy to leave after the area and visit other parts of the city after a few hours. Munich is a great place to visit. It has some great historical building and and a exciting downtown.

“In the middle of nowhere”

We've got the information about this hotel from our partner in Germany as near to Messe area. During booking procedure we've been warned there were many better and cheaper hotels. Travelling by car we found hotel easily and left our car in underground parking (at the beginning of it). Then bad surprises occured - room far over 100 € without breakfast (for additional 20 €), parking 13 €/night and 5 €/day, slow internet at lobby or expensive internet at your room. Room itself was OK, just WC could be more spacious (I am tall man).
Hotel is in the middle of nowhere (Messe area about 3 km far on the other side of highway). There are no shops, just small pizzeria and Burger King near hotel - full of hotel visitors in the morning and evening. Breakfast there is about 5 €, so many of them prefere to eat outside the hotel. Even parking on the street is no problem as area is very quiet.

“Hotel OK; customer service substandard”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

I was sent to this hotel by an airline when my flight got cancelled and other hotels, closer to the airport, were full. I arrived in the hotel at 1:30 am, quite tired, after travelling for several hours.

I was given a key and sent through a rather confusing maze of corridors to my room. When I arrived at the corridor leading to the room I found it completely dark, with no lights. I couldn't find any light switch and was unable to locate my room, so I returned to the front desk.

The clerk told me that she knew there was no light in this corridor and suggested that I use my cell phone to get some light and locate my room this way. When I objected she told me it was the last room available, so I either find the room using my cell phone or there is no place for me to sleep.

Indeed, I managed to find the room getting some light from my cell phone. When I entered the room I was able to switch the lights on in the bathroom but nowhere else in the room.

So, I returned to the front desk to complain again. This time one of the front desk clerks came to the room with me. She discovered that all the lamps in the main part of the room were unplugged (i.e. the room was not really prepared). She plugged the lamps in and that sorted the problem out. And, yes, she used my cell phone to navigate in the darkness.

Next morning I tried to bring the situation to the attention of the front desk manager. She knew about the problem with electricity in the corridor. It wasn't a big deal in her opinionn and said nothing could have been done, so I should have been happy that I had had a place to sleep.

In fact, I am not happy as I find this level of service unacceptable. Sending guest to rooms via corridors with no electricity is a violation of basic hotel standards. The attitude of the front desk staff (both night and day shift) shows that they are lacking basic customer skills and they are not up to the job. I sent an email about my experience to the NH customer relations but never received an answer.

A half-litre bottle of water in my room had a price tag of €3.80. I understand that hotels need to make money somehow but that is unreasonable.

On the bright side: the room was clean and the bed very comfortable, although an orangey-red colour scheme a bit too bright for my liking. Also, the breakfast was excellent.

“Apt for Business visit to Messe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2010

I was looking for a hotel closer to the Fair Grounds at a resonable rates and this hotel provided me one (considering the last minute booking I was doing). It is closer to the fair and the hotel had arranged for shuttle services to and fro for every half an hour. There is also a Bus stop which connects to the city. The hotel staff was kind enough to guide me to reach a particular place through combination of bus and underground train. The hotel staff also suggested to take a taxi in some cases where access by public transport was difficult.

The room was good. I didnt hear any noice. Bed was comfortable. TV had very less english channels. The restaurant was ok. They managed to give me a vegetarian food for the dinner. The hotel also gives free internet for use in the lobby. The hotel staff also offered free 15 min coupons for using their business centre for taking print outs (this was very crucial for me as i had to go for a meeting with the documents printed).

Overall it was a good experience considering i was on business trip. The access to city centre is to be considered if one has to stay here on vacation.
