“Perfect City Centre Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Booked the hotel through Easyjet after reading the other reviews, and we wern't disappointed. Clean, brilliant location next to the main rail station and a short walk to the Christmas Markets in the Marienplatz. An even nicer walk after a few gluhweins...

Note that a taxi to/from the airport is around 60 euros, whilst the train is 10 euros each. It's easy once you get your head around the train maps. And of course, being German, the trains are clean and efficient!

Did a day trip to Neuchwanstein castle which was great. We booked this through the travel agent next to where the city sightseeing bus departs. Pity it was a foggy day so we didn't get to see the castle in all it's glory.

All in all a great long weekend. Would recommend the Alfa as a base. Helpful staff, great breakfast buffet and perfect location. We stayed in the back building, top floor foom 505.

“There are better hotels in Munich”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

Checkin was good, service was good, I explained at checkin that I only needed 1 night even though I booked 2. I was told by the owner, "No Problem, we have a waiting list so someone will take the room and you only need to pay for the first night".

The floor of the room was thin carpet over concrete and in winter it made for a room that couldn't be heated. The rooms are old, musty and in bad need of a renovation. Extremely uncomfortable....however the single night price is ok.

The next morning I checked out and the daughter of the owner decided to invoke every possible right she could to charge me for the 2nd night even though the owner told me that I didn't need to worry about it.

I'll get it in writing next time, but definitely not from this hotel!

“Great venue for a city centre stay”

Visited this hotel in December for visit to Xmas markets with a group of friends.
The hotel is situated in a quietish street not far from the main station. We were situated on the first floor in a non smoking room. The room was spotless with all the expected facilities.
Breakfast was served in a pleasanr breakfast room and offered a good selection of varied items. Everything was fresh and the fruit juice, rolls and meats and cheeses merit special mention.
With easy connection to the town centre and surrounding villages this is a hotel to recommend.

Friendly staff and a cosy room added to the attraction.

“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Minutes away from the train station. The rooms were clean although smelled badly of cigarettes. The linens even smelled. Other than that, it was good.

“Excellent Location in Munich”

Stayed here during the opening weekend of Oktoberfest 2011. We took a train into Munich, so their proximity to the Hauptbahnhof is extremely convenient. I have no complaints about this hotel. The manager, Anton, was very friendly, and was even able to provide us with tickets to an Oktoberfest tent. (at extra cost of course) The hotel was clean and surprisingly not too loud. These aren't fancy amenities, but a great spot in the middle of the city to explore Munich. It's right near a bus tour launch point as well. Next time I travel to Munich, i'll come back here.

Room Tip: 'triple room' can actually fit 4.
