The staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. The location is very close to both a U- and an S-station from which trains will quickly get you to the city centre. The price is very reasonable - I paid less than 100€/night for a double room + breakfast including all taxes. The rooms are rather small but they are impeccably clean, quiet and warm. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very reasonable and, unusually, is available from 06h30 until 11h00! I will certainly stay here again if I am in the area.

We stayed here in August-September 2011 for our honeymoon. We stayed for a week and it was lovely. It's just a business hotel but that means great internet (which saved time for checking in at the airport), it's clean and excellent service.

It's convenient for catching the Harrass U-Bahn and there are lots of croissant shops in the U-bahns etc. if you are room only.

At first we were disorientated but once we worked out where the U-Bahn station was it was great. It's quite a walk into the centre and to the parks but not unpleasant and you can see the sights.

We had a nice view over a courtyard and a church from our room at the back. We just heard the churchbells, which was nice. I think at the front there might have been roadworks but I'm not sure.

On our first night when we were tired and disorientated we managed to find a Mc Donald's a few hundred metres away. Down the road there was a cute shop that you could eat in or takeaway pizza and lots of different foods.

The area felt safe and Marienplatz can get rowdy with all the beer halls so I much preferred catching the U Bahn (open til about 2am) in from Harrass when I wanted liveliness.

I guess best to start with arrival and check-in. We arrived after an exhilerating trip to the mountains on a Sunday afternoon. Hotel wasn't too hard to find although according to tom-tom it doesn't exist.

There is a small parking bay (really drop-off/pick-up) at the front of the hotel and while the good lady wife waited in the car went to reception to ask for help bringing in the bags (9 pieces in all and not many of them small). It was clear from the short sharp response from the desk-jockey that this was an alien concept and that no help would be available - even more disturbing was that he was very clear that he was not going to help at all. He did point us to the car parking downstairs and said you can take the lift from there with your things!

Getting into the parking lot was something that would have been better suited to a vehicular contortionist of stunt driver - this was clear by the numerous scratches on the walls and barriers to the very very narrow entrance. The lift was a 'convenient' 50m of corridors and 4 doors away from the carpark so carrying the luggage was a multi-step process. To add insult to injury only one lift was working and it was pitifully slow - hence the process took quite some time.

The room was small and average - tiles cracked in the bathroom, black mildew around the broken sealant around the bath so hot you couldn't breathe. Airconditioning is only turned on during summer months and the only temperature control is on the radiators - we turned them right down but only managed to lower the temperature to the equivalent of a 'finnish sauna'. Windows did not open - so we suffocated the few nights we were there.

Location is "OK" but definitely not convenient unless you have a penchant for sitting 30 minutes on the metro, personally I'd prefer somewhere walking distance. There's not a lot around the hotel you'd want to visit, so keep this in mind.

In terms of cleanliness and service - there was actually one tray of food sitting in the corridor outside one of the rooms for 36+ hours - I think the staff were waiting for it to evolve legs and make it's own way to the kitchen.

The K+K was a poor end to an otherwise great vacation :( left us with a sour taste ...

This hotel is a lovely hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We usually stay directly in the city centre, so this was a change for us-and a pleasant one! The underground line 6 takes you there in about 6 minutes. Make sure you use the lift in the platform when you get off the train, as when you get out at the top,the hotel is facing you. If you take the S7, turn left when you leave the station and you have a short walk up the street.
Our room was clean and well appointed, but not big. Big enough though! You could sleep with the window open, which you can't do in the city centre hotels! The staff were very pleasant and efficient. It is very handy to be able to buy the transport tickets from reception rather than from the machines. If you have a deal without breakfast, there are plenty possiblities close by. McDonalds is just around the corner, or better still, just past McDonalds, a little Stehcafe, where you can get a coffee and a croissant or similar for 2 euros! Then, across the road from the cafe , there is a wonderful Edeka supermarket!
