The room was extremely small - some misunderstanding arose, however, from the American use of "twin" bed instead of UK "single" bed for one small bed in a small room.
The receptionist I dealt with was as helpful as possible but probably also well-practised at squashing quibbles. I asked why there were no sewing kits or complimentary toiletries in my room and was told the hotel doesn't do them. However they are listed near the foot of the Amenities & Facilities page under the hotel description. An in-room safe is also listed but did not materialise, and I did ask about all this the first night. I was given a very polished brush off. The receptionist did offer me the chance to change rooms perhaps the next day but as he looked doubtful when I asked if I’d have to pay for the difference I didn’t follow this up.
There were no extra pillows in the room [meant to be spare bedding]. I had one small, thin one, and having struggled for around 90 minutes to sleep with it on top of a folded up blanket, I eventually decided this was not good enough and went down to reception to get two more. These were both bigger and more solid than the first, so although I was helped, I felt I had initially been given the meanest pillow they could find for my economy room.
All in all I felt the accommodation was grudging and not entirely conforming to the standards in the list mentioned in the hotel description. I spent as little of my time there as possible.
