“good value, clean and convenient”

I stayed here for a week in November 2011. Have previously stayed for a similar length of time at the Hilton City, a few streets away. This is an area of Munich that I love with the convenience of public transport, supermarkets, pharmacy and the local shopping centres (including a great manicure) This hotel met all expectations held for the price which included breakfast. Staff were friendly and very helpful, my room was very clean apart from a dodgy smell from the drains. My internet connection was good and I enjoyed the free drinks in the minibar. What won my heart through was the availability of washing machines, driers and ironing board and iron in the basement which set my complete wardrobe up again for the next phase of my holiday journey. And yes, there are also 2 laundromats a brisk walk away in this area (used last year) but the convenience of having facilities onsite to where you are staying cannot be underestimated. The cons? - it would be helpful to have a ramp to drag suitcases up into the hotel rather than the steps and next time, will probably try a room at the back as the front of the hotel was slightly noisey - people seemed to be pulling along wheeled suitcases 24 hrs a day along the street.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden at the back are likely to be quieter than those overlooking the street.

“Excellent quality for price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

They made all this little things that make your stay comfortable - free water&beer minibar, some free internet, small kitchen corner, ... etc.
Street Paking for 6 eur/day.
Walkable to Marienplatz, close to Deutches museum.
Choosing between the famous hotel nets in that area and Derag - i tried derag - and i guess it's better than most of them.

“Average - Nothing spectacular here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

Stayed for 2 separate weekends - didn't expect a 5 star place, but didn't expect my bookings to be mixed up with either. There was a mistake in their booking system so during check-in and check-out the front desk staff insisted that breakfast was not included when in fact I had already pre-paid for it.

The rooms are a bit old and might smell a little stale. 2 free bottles of beer and water are a nice touch but housekeeping needs to remember to provide a bottle opener in the room! Showers are cramped and if the shower head is clogged up like mine was then you get one painful high pressure stream and many weak ones. Wifi connection was a little patchy so resorted to using the computer provided at the front desk. Breakfast spread was a little limited and definitely too expensive had I been charged twice for it.

That said, location is quote good - short walk to Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn station, various restaurants at Rosenheimer Platz and HIT supermarket in the underpass from S-Bahn station towards Holiday Inn.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back of the hotel, away from the road, are quieter and get less glare from lights o...

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed three nights last week at this hotel and was suprisingly pleased, not sure what I was expecting for not a lot of money, but what I wanted was a budget business stay with no fuss and this is exactly what I got, from the cheery welcome to the fast checkout everything was a really pleasent experience.

There are always minor issues and these were the ones I found. It's a few hundred level yards from the Goetheplatz U Bahn, no problem dragging my case - until you get to the hotel and here I where there is about 10 steps up to the reception, I couldn't see any alternative than hiking up the steps which was a bit of a haul, The room was well laid out, flawlessly clean and - actually did have two free beers and two bottled waters in the fridge (that I did like :), it was a average sized room, with twin beds a smallish shower room and oddly there was also a microwave and a two ring hob - but no exractor fan and no cutlery - so my rooms identity was somewhere between hotel and apartment....

And oh yes, I could find no way of turning down the room temperature - which was way too high for me and the windows could only be opened for an inch or so.

The staff however were very approachable and freindly and I am sure that I could have resolved the above if it had been important.

Overall I was very happy with the experience and will be using this place again, maybe go for one of the larger apartments. There is also a restaurant next door - didn't get the chance to try it though

“weirdly good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

The location is great when coming from the airport by train. The s-bahn stop is close to the hotel. s-bahn takes you fast to the center and to the main railway station.
The hotel has confusing decor. The reception hall and the corridors are trying to be modern but then the reception and brakfast room are kind of cottage style. Rooms are not very beautiful, but they are quite big and for a longer stay the mini kitchen might be handy.
The breakfast is excellent and the hotel is over all a good value for the money.
