This unassuming hotel is just across the river from the city centre, in a pleasant residential area with good tube or bus connections into the city. It also has the significant advantage of being close to a brilliant cafe/deli 'The Hungry Heart', and not far from a cash point. The only other amenities of note closeby are the science museum and the church in Mariahilfplatz, this latter having some particularly carrying chimes.
This is a shame, because combined with, albeit low-level, traffic noise seemingly thoughout the night, it didn't contribute to the best nights' sleep I've ever had in my life. This was particularly frustrating because the room and the beds were comfortable with a clean modern bathroom. Other irritations were poor lighting for reading and unlined curtains which allowed a significant amount of unwanted light to seep into the room room at night. I'd suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel away from the road which would solve the noise and excessive external light problem. As for reading: you'll just have to take a headlight with you! Or watch the television.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. However delicious the breakfast might have been we didn't have it, as at twelve euros each it was outrageously overpriced for people who just wanted fruit and yoghourt. That's where the Hungry Heart came in!
The restaurant looked very pleasant with a bierkeller ambiance and was full both times we put our heads round the door, so although we can't vouch for the food, obviously a lot of others could.
If you could solve the sleep problem with eyepads and earplugs then this hotel is well priced for its other comforts and location.
