“Desperate situations need desperate choices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011

This is not the most luxurious hotel, but it was close to the location I was interested in (Neuperlach Sud) and I could find a place to stay during the conferences time.
The room is rather large, but the bathroom is ... not very small, but has a strange structure.
The sound insulation is not one of the best (I could hear the neighbors taking a shower or a dump).
If you can choose, ask for a room facing the woods. The view (sunrise over a field coverd in poppies) and the sounds (birds singing) in the morning are great (I expect a totally different situation in the winter).
Breakfast is not a royal treatment, but will get you through the morning. Some products are rather "ancient", but I might also blame it on the lack of guests.
If you want a meal outside the hotel, there is a small family business ran by Slovenians I guess (as you go round the hotel to the right of the entrance): not the best looking place, but decent prices and really good meals.
Internet connection is available via wireless and the prices are more than decent (5 EUR for 24h or 1 EUR for 2h; the 24h connection can be interrupted and therefore split over the whole staying), but the trickiest part is getting an IP (not always successful from the first essays).
The hotel advertises that a sauna and gym are available; this is true, but the sauna costs 9 EUR and it closes at 21.00, and the gym has a bike and 3 other aparata.
The TV in the room is small (and ancient - but I never use it), the minibar (or fridge) was missing from my room (but some rooms have even a small kitchen).
Be aware: you will have to bring your own shower gel / shampoo because they provide you a very small, hard-to-open envelope a day or every 2 days, but this is not enough (I am a guy, not a lady and I have really short hair).
Even if this is a rather clean hotel, you may occasionally find under the pillow or in the bathroom some moving creatures.
And a strange fact (I have never met this before): only one of the two beds can be used (one pillow, one blanket).
One positive fact: there is a beer machine in the holway and the price is 2.5 EUR for a 0.5l bottle.

Room Tip: Ask for an east-oriented room (when sunny)

“nice and quiet on the suburbs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

Has all you expect from a 3 star hotel. Breakfest not a great delight as is expected from any hotel this level in europe. Run by family, so a warm and personal service is given. Price was high but fair relative to the Oktoberfest season. Takes about half an hour to get to the city's center (and the Oktoberfest grounds aswell), so not recomended for youth planning on getting drunk.

“Great value, but out of the way.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

This is a great little hotel which is affordable and includes a tasty breakfast. Staff don't say much but the lady who cleans the rooms is lovely. She'd noticed my clothes weren't drying so securely opened my windows while I was out for the day. Internet here is free which is fabulous. Rooms are clean but basic and the mattresses are very comfortable.
From the centre of Munichen you catch a train to QuiddestraBe, then a 197 bus for about 6 stops, then walk maybe half a kilometer. Hard to find the first time you come by public transport because it is quite out of the way and hidden. No real centre for anything where it is located. Close to two supermarkets and a kebab shop.
I stayed here because accommodation tariffs were too great in the city with Oktoberfest! Overall very happy here.

“Nice Hotel Off the Beaten Path”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2004

This little hotel is primarily a business traveler's hotel, situated in a residential area just southeast of the Munich city centre. Though not terribly remarkeable in its individual features, the service was excellent, the breakfast provided outstanding and the location was quiet and off the beaten path of the busy and noisy downtown area - particularly during Oktoberfest. Once you have the public transportation schedules down, it is easy to get from the hotel downtown and back - just 15 minutes or so. (you can get the schedules at any Tourist Information booth where you see the Green "i" displayed at bus/train stations, airports, main streets, etc.) As we stayed during Oktoberfest where hotels throughout the city were overpriced and overcrowded, this was a refreshing and lovely alternative, if you don't mind taking the T-bahn back and forth (which we didn't - cheap and safe and clean way to get around!) The young lady who checked us in and worked the evenings spoke excellent English and helped me with my German! The rooms are small by US standards, but good sized by European standards. Though decorated in 80s color schemes of lavender and grey, it was clean and comfortable and had a lovely view of the forest and fields nearby. Based on the price we got ($125 or so during Oktoberfest) I would stay here again.
