We stayed here august 2011, for 3 nights. Starting with the positiive before putting the boot in: the location was great, right near to any number of restauants and bars with prices for all pockets, plus the amazing park is 5 mins away. it is round the corner from the underground metro and town centre only 3 stops away.

The room was reasonable in terms of cleanliness and had tv, minibar, comfy bed etc. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety.

They did not provide us with the usual shower gel etc. just an empty bottle (nice.) The main problem was the attitude of the 3 members of reception staff we encountered. Not a single smile, 2 of them sullen to the point of rudeness, and when you asked questions (even in my fluent German) they gave grunted, monosyllabic answers, I had never seen anything like it. The wi -fi did not work for more than 1 hour a day the first day, not at all thereafter despite repeated requests to the desk they did nothing.
For the price (80e/night) you could probably do better. courtesy and a welcome smile cost nothing, (note to managment: a new wi fi router costs next to nothing either). I would not recommend this place.

Receptionist was not all at service minded. When asking questions he didnt seem to care at all.

My husband & I stayed here while he had business meetings, then moved to a hotel more central to the old-town area. I was pleasantly surprised by the Schwabing area, which is bustling, popular and has lots of cafes. Close to the Ubahn, easy to get anywhere else you want to go. Reviewer prior to me was not happy about leaving your key on the way out, but that seems to be the way all the hotels do it, and we did not find it to be inconvenient. Room was quite small, but good bed, comforters & pillows. Unfortunately we experienced one of the rare Munich heat waves our first couple of days & the room was quite unpleasant until we discovered the other way to open the window wider & also requested a fan. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices, great coffee. Yes, to access their wi-fi you do have to go to the sitting area outside the breakfast room. They do have a couple laptops available for guests to use which I used after the business travelers had all left for the day.

Located in Munich's pleasant Schwabing neighborhood, this hotel is in a trendy area, near Ludwig-Maximiilians University, and has plenty of dining options literally just around the corner. The old town is just a 5 minute subway ride away, and the tranquil English Garden is about a 15 minute walk away.

The free breakfast is astounding in both quality and variety. One morning we were even treated to the renowned Weisswurst, or white sausage.

Two small dings, though. 1) You must leave your key at the front desk upon leaving, which I found a bit of a nuisance when the receptionist was busy checking in/out other guests, and 2) The WiFi only worked on the first and second levels, and not any of the higher levels where the guest rooms are located. And there did not appear to be any urgency whatsoever on the part of the staff to fix this situation. There were two laptops available for guests to surf the Web, however.
