I usually stay at the Arabellapark Sheraton when I'm on business in Munich because it is close to the UniCredit headquarters. The location is a bit out of the way, but is attractive enough with the park nearby. If I were a tourist, I'd opt for the Bayerische Hof in town (particularly if I'm feeling free-spending).
The hotel itself is an ugly sixties concrete block, but the place has been extensively and sensitively modernized inside. The room I had was large and well-furnished, with a large bathroom and a balcony (not that I used it in January). The room was kitted out well for working, with a big desk, and both wired and wireless internet connections. (The hotel charges for internet access: Unacceptable for a hotel in this price range.)
The bathroom was modern and attractive, with both a walk-in shower and a large tub.
Be aware that if you arrive late at night (as I did) and have some technical problems with the room (as I did) that the hotel does not appear to have maintenance staff available 24/7. Worse, room service shuts down at 11pm leaving you stranded in the middle of nowhere with just the minibar to keep you company. This is really bush-league for a global hotel chain, and for a hotel that purports to serve business travelers.
I'll probably come back here because the location is convenient, but I am tempted to try the Westin Grand just across the street...
Room Tip: Rooms higher up are quieter. Be sure you get a renovated room.
