The place is close to my workplace, which is the only reason to stay here. The central / university location has some advantages. The rooms are in 1950s condition and have never been renovated. The place is a pure cash-cow with zero invest. Actually the breakfast is the best of all with some good choice. The TV is very tiny and not very loud, but my neighbours have done enough noise to make up for that every night...

We arrived at hotel antares a bit earlier then check in. The rooms were clean and neat with a nice little fridge that has some pay to take water or you could place your own food in it. The fridge locked, so for lack of a safe we left a few articles in the locked fridge without a problem. The rooms were a bit on the small size, as was the bathroom. Breakfast was good with a standard selection and the food was very fresh. Good Location near Odeonsplatz and close to the walking area near the residence.

The hotel was fairly quiet when we checked in, but due to the ash cloud it rapidly filled and was very busy by the time we checked out. Despite all of this the staff was still calm and friendly.

We recently stayed at Hotel Antares for 4 nights. The hotel is in a great neighborhood in between the Schwabing and University Districts with good inexpensive dining options and cafes within a short walking distance. Its about a 10 minute walk from the Marienplatz and most of central Munich's sites. Its a 5 minute walk from the Odeanplatz U-Bahn which I believe was the closest. The rooms are a good size and seemed relatively clean. They provide a small fridge and closet and the bathrooms were of adequate size. The breakfast buffett was a nice addition and saved us a great deal of money on going out and buying breakfast. WiFi was not free but showed up on my iPhone and was around $4USD for 30min. I would suggest this hotel for younger and budget conscious travellers if you can find a good deal. Munichs lodgings tend to be expensive or seedy, so a nice 2 star hotel like this is refreshing option.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Room was small but clean and close to the city and train station.
The buffet breakfast was good, typical German Breakfast of rolls, meat, cheese, yogurt, pastries eggs from memory and tea and coffee.
Internet is expensive and if you need a laundry it's a good 25min walk down the road
Car parking was available for 15euros a day across and down the street at a parking station.
