“Uncleaned room, generally unwelcoming”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Worst Starwood property I've stayed at so far. Feels more like a two star hotel: The lobby is hardly existing with a few couches, a bar and the checkin squeezed into one space. The guest rooms are small, furniture ok, bathrooms are very small with a bathtub but no shower.

When I arrived, the room was only partially cleaned with wet towels and personal documents from the previous inhabitant laying around. Shocking.

They had even taken the second blanket, pillow, and towel away since my reservation stated only one person; of course at no discount over staying with two people.

Absolutely no SPG Platinum recognition beyond the mandatory 250 points.

Will definitely avoid this property in the future and probably not stay at Four Points again, which appear to gradually leave the Starwood family anyway. Hoping for the aloft brand to come to Europe soon ...

“A bit far, but a decent price”

Got a good deal to stay here, but a few things I wish I'd known about it first:
1. It's about a 12-min ride on the U-bahn out of the city center, and only accessible by the U3 line. Trains come about every 10 mins and it's about 2,50 euros per ride.
2. When you exit the train station, follow the red poles to the Olympic Village / hotel entrance. We didn't know this on the first day, and ended up in the giant maze of a parking lot. Note the hotel itself is only actually 3 floors.
3. Wifi is quite expensive in your room. It's "free" in the lobby, but to access it, you have to sign up with your room number. This apparently shows up as if you signed up in your room, and thus incurs a charge (I successfully got it removed).
4. Not much is open in the evenings around the area. The grocery stores (Netto & Tengelmann) close by 8 pm and most stores are closed by then too.

Overall, I think I would have sacrificed the SPG points and stayed closer to town in a boutique hotel with better access to the city. It was a nice stay, but a bit far away to get the full "Munich city

“Best Brews & friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Four Points is the budget brand of Sheraton, and this hotel definitely a perfect choice when in the north of Munich.
We stayed there as my husband had a training close to the Olympiaeinkaufszentrum, which is just two stops away from the hotel, or 10 minutes walking.
The hotel is in one of the old buildings of the Olympic village, we had a view to the new Allianz arena from our room on the 14th floor.
It looks like it has been renovated not too long ago.
Nice lobby area, and they have a concept of "Best Brews", which means they have tons of international and local beers, and I also heard they have a CBO, Chief Beer Officer, who is a frequent traveller or something like that.
We had booked executive room, that came with internet included and 20% on food & beverage. Breakfast was way over expectation, complete full buffet including eggs and Weisswurst for a very accessible price.
Location is also good in relation to other places in the city, as it's only 3min from the U-Bahn station, and across the street is BMW, the museum, and the Olympic Parc.
Staff was very friendly, especially the young associates.
Will definitely opt for this one again when we have to be in the north of Munich.

“Shockingly good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Maybe we are used to normal European hotels...very small, not-so-modern with few amenities. But, we thought this hotel was wonderful. Parking in a parking garage, an elevator, classy, access to bakeries, groceries and an Apotheke right outside the door. Easy walking distance to the Olympic Park and BMW. We went to Munich for a couple nights to go to Dachau and see the Olympic Park. Dachau was an easy drive...8 miles or so? The front desk spoke English and answered all our questions. I would definitely stay here, again.
