We stayed 3 nights at this simple hotel during Christmas which wasn't a very busy time. We came from airport, took the s-bahn and arrived the complicated Hauptbahnhof station. Trying to locate a proper exit without luck, we simply headed out to a tram exit which wasnt far off the hotel, which is on Bayerstrasse.
Passing by some topless clubs and pizza shops, we arrived their 1st floor lobby which looked like another world, quiet comfy place. Eunice the night keeper greeted us friendly with our keys ready and told us the basics amenities: free hot chocolate, coffee and tea etc.
Our rooms were located on 6th floor not the highest 7th floor luckily otherwise we would need to move our huge luggage up via stairs from the 6th. Our room was basic without any fancy decoration, but thr bed was huge and comfy. It had a balcony to check out the street scene tho too cold to go out during winter. WIFI connection was stable and fast!
Breakfast is great with good variety of selections. If you don't book the rooms via its website, which might be more expensive than booking elsewhere, it costs 9 euro pp, which is alright to me.
After finding out our way, access to U-Bahn was not problem. The closest exit near hotel has escalator and is only 2-stop of S-Bahn to marienplatz. Or you may prefer to walk there, which I think it would take about 15min.
Overall it meets my needs of clean spacious rooms, free internet, convenient location. You might find a bit of problem staying as a family because of the topless clubs nearby but there are no unsafe feelings in the streets, just the pictures ;)
As travel advice: I found trams travels are equally convenient as u/s-bahn esp. when you want to head to Englischer Garten / Nymphenburg palace. And if you are tired after hanging around some parts of city corners without trams or u/s-bahn nearby, try hopping in a bus was equally convenient: many head from/to marienplatz or Hauptbahnhof direction so you can make a transfer there to your next destination.
