“Clean basic room, very friendly service, great location that will make your day in Munich”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed 3 nights at this simple hotel during Christmas which wasn't a very busy time. We came from airport, took the s-bahn and arrived the complicated Hauptbahnhof station. Trying to locate a proper exit without luck, we simply headed out to a tram exit which wasnt far off the hotel, which is on Bayerstrasse.

Passing by some topless clubs and pizza shops, we arrived their 1st floor lobby which looked like another world, quiet comfy place. Eunice the night keeper greeted us friendly with our keys ready and told us the basics amenities: free hot chocolate, coffee and tea etc.

Our rooms were located on 6th floor not the highest 7th floor luckily otherwise we would need to move our huge luggage up via stairs from the 6th. Our room was basic without any fancy decoration, but thr bed was huge and comfy. It had a balcony to check out the street scene tho too cold to go out during winter. WIFI connection was stable and fast!

Breakfast is great with good variety of selections. If you don't book the rooms via its website, which might be more expensive than booking elsewhere, it costs 9 euro pp, which is alright to me.

After finding out our way, access to U-Bahn was not problem. The closest exit near hotel has escalator and is only 2-stop of S-Bahn to marienplatz. Or you may prefer to walk there, which I think it would take about 15min.

Overall it meets my needs of clean spacious rooms, free internet, convenient location. You might find a bit of problem staying as a family because of the topless clubs nearby but there are no unsafe feelings in the streets, just the pictures ;)

As travel advice: I found trams travels are equally convenient as u/s-bahn esp. when you want to head to Englischer Garten / Nymphenburg palace. And if you are tired after hanging around some parts of city corners without trams or u/s-bahn nearby, try hopping in a bus was equally convenient: many head from/to marienplatz or Hauptbahnhof direction so you can make a transfer there to your next destination.

“Good place near city center”

Simple, but quite comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast and free coffee including latte, cappuccino all day.

I don't like noisy district, but it is price for closeness to main railway station. All major attractions are 10 minutes by foot.

“Glad we stayed here!”

We stayed here December 19-24, 2011 because of its proximity to the Altstadt. My husband found it/booked on-line. Even before we arrived the staff were very helpful, responding to our emailed questions almost instantly. The room was perfect, good size for us with our 5 yr old son, very clean and quiet. The breakfast was top-notch (something for everyone). We were able to walk easily to the hotel from the main train station, and it was a great starting place every morning as we set out to explore Munich. We can't say enough good things about the staff and this hotel. Given we were with our 5 yr old, we were usually walking back to the hotel by 8 pm; never had any concerns about our safety or our boy seeing something he shouldn't. We certainly hope to come back to Munich (love it!) and will stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for room on back side of hotel. Elevator does not go to top floor.

“Great hotel near railway and metro station”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Was in this hotel just before end of year 2011. The hotel has normal size rooms with basic furniture. my wife loved the bathroom because it was super clean and not small (very common in hotels).
Breakfast is for a 3 star hotel rich and with a lot of food. i think that you already now about coffe and tea...ltrully great service.
Area around hotel is not so bad al stated in other reviews. There are adult shops and strip clubs but on inside - on outside nobody does nothing special

Room Tip: 3 floor - facing garden

“There can't be a much better place to stay for the price in Munich”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

If you read the other reviews of this hotel they focus on three factors: The quality of the breakfast, the helpfulness of the staff and the 'area' around the hotel and to be honest my review agrees with most of what is written!
The breakfast is brilliant. Loads to eat and lots of variety. The fact that there is free cofee and tea all the time is an added bonus.
The receptionists are excellent, all the time being very helpful (and do speak excellent english).
The area around the hotel is what I would call a bit 'cheap'. There are adult entertainment venues near to the hotel but they don't impose in any way and i would think that many children wouldn't even realise what they were. The area is completely safe. The hotel is ideally situated, within easy walking distance of the main station and its not much of a walk into the centre. If you are feeling lazy then then the S Bahn is within 5 minutes walk.

The two rooms that we used were exceptionally clean and what I liked about the twin room that I had was that the two beds were not just next to each other but were quite separate.

The friends I went with said I should give it 5 stars but I'm sticking at 4 as the corridors and entrance did not match the quality of the rest of the hotel, but to be honest that is a very minor point.
