“Fantastic, great value for money!”

This was a last minute, low budget trip to Munich for work and it entirely exceeded our expectations. We booked through lowcostholidays and got an excellent deal (£120 for 2 people for 2 nights bed and breakfast) and we were thoroughly impressed by the standard of service that we received. There was easy transport access to and from the airport (and around the city) even late at night (we arrived in Munich at 11pm). We arrived at the hotel at around midnight and were politely greeted by reception. I had emailed the hotel before our visit requesting a kitchenette but had had no reply (most likely since it had only been a couple of days before hand). I explained this to the receptionist who upgraded our room for free without any hassle from a double room to a room with a double bed, single sofa-bed, walk in wardrobe, fold-away kitchenette area and ensuite. The room was clean and comfortable and there were little packets of haribo golden bears on the pillows! Since it was very late, we had one drink in the small but pleasant bar and then went to bed.

The breakfast in the morning was amazing. Well stocked buffet with a huge selection of tasty food. Very impressive. The service was efficient and polite and the breakfast room was nicely decorated with a pleasant atmosphere.

The staff at reception were particularly helpful throughout our visit, helping us to navigate around the city and to find places to eat and drink. I had an issue with the internet access to our room which was quickly resolved by a member of staff at reception.

We used the spa area once during our visit and found it to be clean and relaxing with a sauna and a steam room.

The area around the hotel is fairly residential, there are a few shops but not an awful lot of nightlife, however there are several handy supermarkets nearby which are great if you have a kitchenette area.

Overall we had an excellent stay at this hotel and we highly recommend it - it perfectly suited our needs and made the visit really enjoyable.

“Christmas in Munich”

We spent three nights over Christmas period at this hotel. Check-in was swift but we were a bit early so had to come back at 1400 to get into the room. This was the only negative of our stay. The room was very clean and well-appointed. There was a balcony and even a small kitchenette with fridge, cooker, microwave and which we use to make breakfast. There was a flat screen TV in the room with a good range of channels, German and international. Otherwise stay on until Hauptbahnhof. There is also a spa and restaurant /bar in the hotel but we didn't use these. The location of the hotel in the suburb of Giesing was perfect - take the U-bahn (U1) at Silberhornstrasse (just 100 metres from the hotel) change at Sendlinger Tor and take the U3/U6 to Marienplatz.

“Excellent Value for Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

This was our first weekend away to Munich and we were very impressed with the hotel! The location was ideal, which is very near the u-Bahn with quick and easy access to all parts of Munich. The rooms are excellent value for money although we had two single beds pushed up together. What I felt was most impressive were the large breakfast buffets which were very delicious and sets you up for the day nicely. I especially liked the pretzel bread. There were further nice touches like the flavoured tic tacs available on reception :-). All in all we had an amazing time in Munich where we had an excellent base to explore the Christmas markets and got to all the top spots.

“Brand new, nice place, out of center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

The Leonordo in Munich is a very good choice when you want to visit for instance Olympia Park and the BMW museum and factory. For a visit to the historic center of Munich I would prefer some other place. The hotel has good parking facilities, though somewhat expensive (I tought I made a reservation through internet and already paid for it, but that didn't seem right. Strange, because I checked the box on their website), is easy to find and is brand new. It's situated on the premisses of the former airport of Munich. The rooms are as you would expect from a new tour star hotel, as are the lounge, spa, fitness and restaurant. It all is nicely decorated, trendy and design. A good choice for business and friends. Lesser for families, I think.

Very clean and quiet, comfortable beds, good breakfast. But not the best location, not very helpful staff, small rooms. Too expensive for what they offer.
