My husband and I booked with Alpenparadies the day before we were to arrive, on World Cup weekend in Garmisch. I suppose the lodgings closer to town got booked first, but we didn't mind the drive to the outskirts of Partenkirchen. Our GPS took us straight there. And the road wasn't icy.
We spoke with the hostess in German, so I can't comment on her English ability. All three rooms are upstairs; ours had a fantastic view of the Alpspitze and Zugspitze from the balcony. The room was kept a bit cool, so we turned up the radiators whenever we were there. The ceiling is slanting and low over the head of the bed, but we aren't very tall and didn't mind! There is also a wardrobe, table and two chairs, small TV with many channels, couch, and two bedside stands with lamps. The little bathroom was very clean and had a good-sized shower with plenty of hot water, and a skylight.
I loved the breakfast! Our hostess asked our preference of coffee or tea at our arrival, and each morning we had personal carafes at our table. There was also a basketful of rolls, cheese and meat, butter, jam, nutella, and honey, orange juice, and a soft-boiled egg.
This room was priced just right and we enjoyed it.

Haus alpenparadies is a simple furnished country pension 5 min from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Breakfast is included. Rooms have balconies overlooking huge mountains. There are nice paths to explore and a very popular restaurant called the, Pfeiffer Alm, next door and homecooked food is prepared daily.
The prices at are so fair at the Alpen Paradise, you can afford a private room for your children too.
They have 3 rooms with private bathrooms and Sat TV. The breakfast room is shared with the other guests if there is someone else there. They have a common fridge to keep your drinks and food cold, and a kettle. It is well marked signed to find. It is a wonderful location on the side of a mountain. Hikers paths or other paths. My family and I loved this pension. Maria Pfeiffer is the owner. We speak only English and had no problems. The address is:
